It always surprises me how valuations of players differ per manager. Would love to have a RL chat with managers after the draft to go over motivations and though processes so I can possibly learn but most of all just to nerd out over RZA

I have a spreadsheet ranking age, Exp, Str, Spe, Int, TW and traits and try to balance that against future needs of my team.

I would love to nerd out........

Here the same!

Drafting in Elite is quite different. From my top 32 Players (aka 1st Rounders) 23 were drafted.
In Thunder one I'm pretty sure it would have been less...

I do everything in a spreadsheet as well, and then transfer the final list to the site.

Bridges DL pipeline is currently lacking; those good DL selected right just before my pick would have been ideal to fill that gap. Ended up with a 19 yo OL with fine STR/TW/INT combination. At 19 time is on his side to get there, and can never have enough OL depth.

I changed strategy a bit this season. Normally I use Excel sheet to calculate a number for all players based on their stats. I then sort from high to low and add it to RZA Draft Board. I might make some minor changes.

This season I set a standard for INT and TW (dependent on position) and I filtered those players out regardless of their physical stats. Normally I would never do that.

That is why I skipped the player that dumpling picked for example and why I got my no.1 pick.

Reason is that I always seem to lose to the crop of Thunder 1 despite having a good enough squad to challenge I believe. I am now tightening up my selection criteria in an attempt to close the gap in seasons to come.

I adjust my criteria each year based on the position I want the most. My spreadsheet has a basic criteria, but then I narrow things down and also transfer it to the draft board before the draft. All of this is based on position of need though.

This is an interesting enough convo that I’m going to join it even as an outsider. I have several levels of filters that I put my draft picks through. Without a supporter account, scouting draft picks take a while cause I’m lazy so the actual sorting often gets neglected, but first I sort by age. Any players 18-20 get prioritized. Next I look at the most favorable combination of Intelligence, Teamwork, and Experience (Intelligence for me being the top priority). Finally I see if his athletics make the cut. I don’t prioritize position at all because I know I can morph them into other positions if I need to.
