We're proud of our local dialects here... some can be so strong that native English speakers struggle to understand them in certain parts of the country.

I was born in Birmingham, but lived in Leeds (Yorkshire) for 5 years, which muddied my accent. I moved back to Birmingham 24 years ago - but I've worked as a quiz host/compere for most of that time, thus clarity and ease of understanding is important (a 'DJ' voice), and my accent has largely gone.. sadly.

The pocket of the Midlands known as 'The Black Country' due to it's coal mining history has one of the UK's strongest (and most derided accents) - I struggle to understand some of them, despite living only 10 miles east of there....

Yesterday my beautiful half got positive test.

Today I got temperature, so tomorrow I will have to go to test myself.

But this game really make me sweat so temperature got little bit down, making me feel little bit better

Thanks Buziano for support and you are welcome that my win made your tip right

I can understand perfectly because it is the same for us in Italy.
We have something like 20 main dialects and a total of about 100.
Most of the time 100 km away are enough to not understand anything.

My wife's from near Leeds and we now live 5-10 miles from the black country, so I get both those 'odd' dialects!!

Black country is amazing:
"I day do it, sir! It wore me! Yam going now!"
