Pete, this result is an insult to my sanity. I implore you to switch the random day form off, it's ruining games. We want to go MAN VS. MAN not chance vs. No chance, or luck vs. No luck. What is the point in spending an hour scouting your opponent, getting it right and lose heavily.... if I didn't bother scouting, if I win, it wasn't my doing, if I lose I could blame the engine....
Where is the fun? |

I tend to agree that randomness seems to play a larger role in this game, and certainly dayform favored my QB today. I had games last season where my QB threw 4 INTs and completed about 50% of passes, so a 75% completion, 0 INT day against a really good team seems to indicate something was working in my favor.
But I do think dell_g is overstating how successful he was in predicting my plays. Knowing that he is really good at scouting, I made several changes to my PB last night, so he was preparing for an offense that was obsolete. With some room for error in my counting, it looks like you called the 3-4-4 against my pass 39 times and against my run 22 times; the 4-4-3 15x v pass and 11x v run (and I think we all agree that the 4-4-3 is a hardly a shutdown defense against the run) the Goalline 3x v pass, the 5-3-3 1x v run and the 3-3-5 4x v pass. Considering I passed on 61/95 offensive plays, you actually would have had a higher predicted success rate if you just ran the 3-4-4 all game. Last edited on 2021-08-03 19:50:00 by prchaser |

My conclusion was not to waste any more time on scouting as I believe is is giving you less often the key advantage to win a game than the dayform does. |

This is my whole point, I can have a vanilla offense, a bend but don't break defense, and if I win, it wasn't anything to do with my input, if I lose, it's because I haven't scouted. There is NO fun in hoping chance is on your side in a game Both teams had different Offensive PB's set up, that should have made for an open game.... Just to clarify, it looks like none of my extra defensive rules added were hit because of the change to the oppositions offensive PB, so my default PASS defensive rules were in play.... 74% completion and 385 yards gained. Pointless discussing this further without any major updates to the engine |

Yet, 1 QB has 74% completed and 385 yards and mine 58% and 158, only 37% of the game time, none existent home advantage? What is it if not dayform? I can't explain why these things are happening with 7.5 years experience, I need someone to tell me it's something other than random luck  |

When I play in elite I do something like a "Scout Efficiency" statistic.
I group all my opponents plays in which my defense is the one I have chosen to counter the offense and all the other ones. My rate is more or less 67% of the time I played the defense I chosed. My opponents gain more or less an avg of -0.7 yds when I used what I think to be the right defense. In the whole season it means a total of -600 yds more or less. I can say I have lost games when I played my best defense more than 90% of the times... and this made me crazy
