That rating disparity difference means less and less the higher up the ratings are, I believe at least. My team in S42 was an 84.8, and I'd probably rather run them out there for this bowl than the 87.8 (pre WR injury) depth chart I used vs Kanar.
In the CC vs Roma you ran out an 83.0 team rating, that's under the average/median of the past ten seasons bowl winners, but certainly wouldn't stick out in the list. Let’s not forget that the rating does not represent perfectly the strength of a team. If a sub play 1 snaps its rating count the same as your best player who played 80. As a result their could be a huge variation depending of the depth chart strategy from a team to another.
