Totally unrelated to my team's poor performances on the offensive side of the ball since the beginning of the season...
Is it me or there is a shortage of OL on the TM ? |

They are tough (and expensive) to find - I very rarely buy a completed skills OL but am always developing a pipeline of new talent (either via the youth academy or by buying good physical players and then developing their skills over many seasons)

OLs are very hard to find. There are free agents on TM from time to time (but you could have surprises and find an OL with 45.5 strength and wonder if it's red or not), and there are rare cases when a manager is selling one (a good one actually), because probably his backup, who is much better has grown and can take over the position. So instead of waiting until one will come along, the best option is the YA or the draft. |

My guess is, OLs are hardest to find, beside a 'perfect' QB.
I always have in mind to develop 2 per season in my YA and sell one, but it starts already with the requirements to have a 45+ str player with maybe 35+ int and 35+ tw. Touch to find those youngsters also. |

Same level of expectations for INT and TMWK for OL ?

you will always have to compromise at some skills to build the team you need

Just my personal requirement maybe, but since line needs higher TW, 35+ is a good compromise I think and since also the O-line needs some INT, also here 35+ is the compromise. Sure, sometimes it's not possible to get the stuff you like, I would at first shrink the INT demand, then maybe TW, a liner with less than STR 45 is a bad idea I think. |

Do you think SPE is completely not a factor for OL's?
I know, OL coach doesn't help with SPE training. On the other hand, intuitively, at least for OT I'd think SPE 40+ would be highly desirable? Plus, wouldn't there be any game engine related reason why StWa trait reduces (slightly) speed? ps. Assuming speed doesn't matter, I designed my personal handicap evaluation system for the maximum potential of OL's: 35 - [STR-36] - [(TMW+4)/5] - [(INT+9)/10] - PaBl - StWa where square brackets is the entier function (cutting the fractional part, e.g [3.9]=3, [3.0]=3), PaBL = 2 (if with Pass Blocker trait, otherwise 0) StWa = 4 (if with Stone Wall trait, otherwise 0) The lower the handicap - the better. OL with 50 STR, 50 TMW, 50 INT and both OL traits would have a handicap 0. OL with 46 STR, 35 TMW, 35 INT and no OL traits, a handicap 14. But assuming speed actually does matter, I've amended it by replacing "35" with "40" and adding additional speed term to the formula above: - [(SPE-35)/3] Last edited on 2023-03-24 03:03:20 by jpnwrt |

It's anybodies guess, whether SPE really matters or not.
It's not the case that my OLs don't have SPE, but I do not look for high SPE on them. |

I was afraid that's the only certain thing
![]() Thank you EDIT: I've just realised there may be an in-game use for the speed penalty of StWa trait, even if OL's don't use speed. StBl's for sure do! Also, if for financial reasons someone double-positions his OL's as substitute DL's (because of similar attributes) even though in RZA the out of position penalty is probably too strong to do that.
