So cutting all of this short are we not going to have any changes?
This makes no difference to me. Whatever changes may have been made had we had a reasoned discussion they would have been too late to help me.

I was thinking about future managers. (As we know one new maanger is already in financial trouble). I thought it might help to keep people in the game. It might at least be helpful to calculate next season's salaries based on the wages being paid at this time. It is highly unlikely a manager is going to fire half of his team. So I see it as not being unreasonable.

Still it is a change and is helpful. So maybe not.

If that is going to be added as an option, I'd rather see next season's forecast include player wages with all players renewed at asking price than keeping salaries static. Accounting for increased salaries incoming from skills being trained higher is important. Especially for new managers, and especially at the end of the season when people tend to make next season's plans.

Poll: Remove contract penalty on releasing players while being in the red with your account

NO
Do not remove the penalty but postpone it.

I think various options have been put forward for changes and also for no change. I think we should make a decision soon as I'm not sure there is much more can be added.
We do have time enough (I hope) to be able to implement any change(s) for next season.

So as a new manager myself, I'm having trouble understanding how a new manager DOESN'T make money? for a club that has been around longer, I feel like it should be kind of obvious if you are going to be in financial trouble..... Hey this last season I lost 40 million... maybe I need to fix something? I don't know how you expect the game to give you an earlier warning that you are in financial trouble, it doesn't know if you plan to sign a new player, or extend someone to a high contract.

To summarize, if there is a way to give players an earlier warning that they are in financial trouble, I'm all for it.

I am not for bailing teams out who overspent and mismanaged their teams, chances are they overspent trying to get an advantage against other teams, and may have won games because of that, why should they be bailed out? As for training limits... I'm not there yet, so I can't say, but can't you always just put the training to 90% speed, and set the training stat to like... blocking for a QB?

My first season was a partial season, and even with 60million in stadium construction, I came away in the green by 40million.

In season 2, I came ahead almost 145 million ahead giving me close to a 200million bankroll at this point.

Am I the oddity that I didn't go the marketplace and buy expensive players as a new coach, obviously being thrown now into D1 last season for my first full season, I'll be lucky to go above a .500 win ratio, but I expect that as a new manager.

I appreciate your comments. It is so long since I was a new manager that I don't know about current income but back then it was like the land of milk and honey.
What led me astray, I believe, is that like you now I had so much money that even large decreasing amounts of cash was like water off a duck's back.
Many seasons ago (perhaps 10?) I stopped going to the Transfer Market. So no money spent there, except that on two occassions I was unable to offer contracts to literally half of my team at season end so had to buy new players quickly and had to pay the going rates. The reason for losing half my team was that I tend to offer contracts at the end of season. Twice I had issues preventing me from getting online at the season end.
I cut my squad to 55 (about 5 or 6 seasons ago).
I also wanted to get my skills to a certain level and then stop so as to avoid overpaying players. Again quite a few times skill levels have gone above what I intended simply because I could not get online at odd times due to RL and sometimes technical issues.
Sometimes it's difficult to know how much money you will need for a certain period of time e.g at present I have some cash. Should I pledge more to the mediacenter, save it to repair my stadium etc? How much will I need for the next x weeks? How much income will I get in the next x weeks?
Since my 'financial crisis' i.e a finance warnign message I have demolished my facilities and disabled Premium Academy.
So the point is I have not been reckless with money. I just cannot be online every day doing mathematical calculations to see how to keep so tightly under control.
Are we saying (and I don't mean you) that unless people are wiling and able to be online every day doing mathematical calculations (without 100% accurate information) that they should not be playing this game? I think not. I, possibly like many, enjoy the strategy side, training players, choosing players, game tactics. I don't enjoy so much being an accountant.

Anyway my cash balance is now positive again and as I have always said in this thread, this is not about me but about trying to help others in the future. So I am all for anything that will help newer people to have an enjoyable time. Just because I (and others) suffered doesn't mean that they have to also. We have forums and mentors to help with player management. Why not have something also to help with financial management?

I 100% agree. I am not sure anyone suggested bailing out teams in financial trouble, but I totally agree. It would be easier to quit and start over anyway, if one so chose.

I also agree, 200+ managers manage to muddle through & a complaint about their own mismanagement so the system gets changed ?
