I also agree, 200+ managers manage to muddle through & a complaint about their own mismanagement so the system gets changed ? Who are you directing your comment to? If it's me, I suggested that managers be made aware that when players walk away from the team, there is no penalty. If you cut a player, there is a penalty. Had I known I could wait for them to walk versus cutting them and taking the financial hit, I would not be in the negative right now. So I was not asking for a change in game mechanics. I was asking for information that veteran managers likely already had, be made available to new managers. I was asking for the playing field to be leveled you might say. I guess I need to go back and read all these posts because I personally do not recall any manager in financial trouble ask for anything more than information and clarity. You guys make it sound like everyone is looking for some kind of bailout. Capt Jack said he was taking his lumps. I am clearly taking mine. So who is getting helped out? |

The bailout I was referring to was the removal of the penalty for firing a player if your team is in the negative, it wasn't directed towards anyone's complaint, just to make my side clear.

If the player walks and your finances are in the negative, there is no penalty anyway. There is really nothing changing other than a manager can speed up the mass exodus of talent from his team.

I was referring to the poll & to those that voted to eliminate the penalties. I have also taken my hits, releasing players, shutting down some facilities. In the original post I think the guy was just asking for some kind of an earlier financial warning (which to me is not a big deal) but it has somehow devolved into completely eliminating some penalties for mismanagement. I'm not attacking anyone specific or calling out any specific manager. |

Well, again I have to say that it really is not changing much imo. There is no penalty when they walk away. If you are in the negative, your highest salaried player leaves the team each update. All you gain with this rule change is the ability to speed that process up. You could maybe argue that the manager could hasten the process and get the youth academy going a little sooner. It wouldn't speed it up much though. You would still lose your facilities, miss training, etc. For the record, I voted for it after the -$5 million mark. By that time, the damage to the team has been done and it still takes multiple seasons to recover. |
