Exactly! I meant in real life the story in the same situation is a little bit different than 9/9...

It was a fake punt?

Or possibly because in his normal capacity, a punter still receives a snap, so the engine sees a punter receiving a snap and doesn't report the position change

Seeing how perfectionist is Pete with the glossary (there is a 2 point conversion in the glossary, though it's clearly stated it is not implemented), I doubt the former. I like the latter.

A New Outbreak Leaves a Broncos Rookie in an Awkward Position: Quarterback

Receiver Kendall Hinton was a last resort fill-in when four Denver Broncos quarterbacks were ruled ineligible to play in Sunday’s game because they’d been exposed to the coronavirus.

Boy, PJ you did jinx him

Kendall Hinton got the axe today, he was cut as the teams need to get down to 53
I sure hope that he stays on the Broncos practice squad, as he is a quality guy and an intelligent player

You have missed the point which is that players out of position should be penalised more.

Why have a backup QB when my linesman can fill the void?

It preserves the integrity of the game.

I did not miss this part.

Please try yourself and play your linesman QB for a season. But don't blame me ...

That makes some sense. But I think that punts are not "regular plays" and there is no text in the gamecenter about snaps to the punter. It is simply a "Player X (P) punts the ball from Field Position for Y".

Waiting for Pete to talk about it (if it will not give us any hint about game engine or an eventual breach).

Also quite known was 2012 Maryland which started a freshman LB as QB in their final 4 games, since the other QBs were out. Of cause the team lost their final 4 games. Still, the guy showed up and played.

"Petty finished up 16/35 for 208 yards and a touchdown, and ran ten times for 25 yards and a score."

Surprisingly good passing completion percentage, wasn't it? What about 10 rushes by QB (vs 35 passing attempts)? Unusually high, seems to me.

That was only in the last game against North Carolina, which was quite a high scoring game on both sides. Maybe he got into the position better, or maybe UNCs defense was bad on the day.
From Marylands players page:
...finished 9-of-18 for 115 yards and two touchdowns as well as 24 yards rushing against the Yellow Jackets
… started against Clemson (11/10) finishing 6-of-12 for 41 yards and a touchdown
… went 8-of-19 for 136 yards and two touchdowns against Florida State (11/17)
… went 16-of-35 for 208 yards and a touchdown against North Carolina (11/24)
… his 16 completions and 208 yards passing against North Carolina wer season highs
… added 20 yards rushing and his first career rushing touchdown against North Carolina as well.

EDIT: May be not that high, actually. May be the game is different now, than it used to be 20 something years ago. Or may be collegiate football is that much different from NFL.
I looked up the rushing leaders among QB in 2021 and it looks like 3-4 per game are pretty much standard, and in some cases much more than that (up to 10 per game).

This depends heavily on the offense played.
Those teams playing spread offense do often field good running QBs.
Look at Tim Tebow, Lamar Jackson or Cam Newton.

Not if you're Georgia Tech or Navy

GT did leave the triple option with their current coach.

But yes, those QBs had maybe 10 passes the whole season.

Hope they won't learn that saying from Lions1934' post. Might get a wrong impression what's a banjo.
