A New Outbreak Leaves a Broncos Rookie in an Awkward Position: Quarterback

Receiver Kendall Hinton was a last resort fill-in when four Denver Broncos quarterbacks were ruled ineligible to play in Sunday’s game because they’d been exposed to the coronavirus.

Boy, PJ you did jinx him

Kendall Hinton got the axe today, he was cut as the teams need to get down to 53
I sure hope that he stays on the Broncos practice squad, as he is a quality guy and an intelligent player

He has made their practice squad (it didn't say what position, I'm assuming WR rather than QB)

Sorry my title is misleading.

I am talking about a backup QB for inplay injuries.

If random players can hit 9/9 there is no need for one.

In real life I would think that 9 random players on the list would more likely throw 9 interceptions than throw 9 completions.

There is no team in the NFL that goes into a game with only one fit QB on the roster.

I had an opponent once who didn't assign a player at RB so 20+ random players filled in. All of them had good runs first up not so good if they ran 2 or 3 times. So the reason I posted (not explained very well by me) was when this happened again with a QB I am wondering if this is an anomaly or some bug in the program that makes first up players perform better. I presume it is just an anomaly but thought I would bring it to your attention.

To go a bit deeper as to why I think you should penalise out of position players more....Random players will averager say 13 in passing (not sure what the math is) say that is 70% of max. If you are only penalising the 10% or so they are still playing at 60% of max which will mean that this kind of senario will happen quite often. The way you have structured the implementation of players abilities means that in order to have a meaningful penalty you really need to cut hard for it to have an impact.

Food for thought

Just to give you some context about me. I was a professional card player (Bridge Poker) for many years and have successfully written algorithms for sports betting and Cricket simulations so I have a high understanding of variance and large data anomalies etc.

I agree with you. I have started a new thread under discussions to ask for implementation of harsher penalties. Please takea look https://redzoneaction.org/football/index.php?page=community&subpage=thread&thread_id=100026332

Hi guys. There is now a poll on OOP penalties - increase or not. Please vote and make your views known for/against.
