I like playing with numbers sometimes, like many here. Last season in Fire I came up with this rating system, and thought I'd try it again, for whatever mild interest it may generate.
It's a ranking based only on Point Differential for the games, but includes an adjustment for the PD compared to how others in the league fared against the same opponents. For example, if your team beats Team X by 7 points, but Team X on average loses by 21, your rating actually decreases for not performing against Team X as well as others in the league do. If you lose to Team Y by 3, but Team Y on average beats opps by 76, then your rating gets a big plus for not getting pummeled like everyone else. Also, you could have your rating go up or down depending on how well teams do that you've already played, even if your team has a bye week. Clear as mud? This is NOT intended to be a power rankings; it will not tell you how strong a team is, just how it's fared so far this season compared to others. As the season progresses and the sample size increases, the rankings should get more accurate. I plan on updating it once a week (real time, not game weeks, so every two league games) |

If you have zero expectations, then yes
It means that on average for 4 games, you have played your opps as well as others in the league have. You'd actually have a more positive number if you hadn't let those towncars roll over you!  |

OK, got it. I just felt, there is no need to beat the Towncars in their 2nd appearance in Elite. But this is what you get out of the try to be nice: a 0
