The magical ride of the HAMBURG SEA LIONS continues as we managed not only to qualify for the playoffs today, but to conquer Seed 5 in a surprisingly high win over TOVARI, too.

We're in quite the illustrous group, as the qualifiers for the Playoffs are:

AC

Seed 1 - ChosenOnes, South
Seed 2 - London Silverbacks, North
Seed 3 - Melittlemenon thepitchhitchin, West
Seed 4 - Morgantown Mad Dogs, East
Seed 5 - Glastonbury Grail Knights, South
Seed 6 - Nanaimo Bluebacks, South

NC

Seed 1 - Amma's Angels, South
Seed 2 - vamosahi, East
Seed 3 - Green Mark Packers, West
Seed 4 - VenoM, North
Seed 5 - HAMBURG SEA LIONS, West
Seed 6 - Oxford Bulls, East

Congrats to everyone

I wonder who the Bluebacks will get in the next round?

I think whichever wild card team i would have gotten would mean a first round loss for me. I've had some success against the Bluebacks, but he beat me when it counted in last year's playoffs. Instead i end up playing the Knights, which could be very one sided very quickly, and not in my favor.

Good luck to all!

It's the Wildcard Round today with 4 intriguing games. #funfact: The AC-teams playing today are exactily the same as in last seasons Wildcard Round, only in a different order In the NC only VenoM returns for the Wildcard Round, but in the Divisonal Round will be waiting the same teams as last season, Amma's Angels and vamosahi.

Glastonbury Grail Knights @ Morgantown Mad Dogs

The winner of the AC East, the Seed 4 Mad Dogs, welcome the Seed 5 Glastonbury Grail Knights from the AC South to the Dog Pen. It's their first match-up at all in meaningful games, in fact they haven't even played a friendly game before. For both it's the second participation in the playoffs in a row, and the visiting team would be heavily favoured by betting odds.

Nanaimo Bluebacks @ Melittlemenon thepitchhitchin

Also participating in the Postseason for the second time in a row are the Bluebacks who'll pay a visit to Melittlemen. It's a rematch of the S44- and S45-Wildcard-Match-Ups when Melittlemen went to Nanaimo and won both encounters. The last game they played, week 4 in S49, was won by the Bluebacks, and both teams come in with this seasons record of 11–5. Can the men from Nainamo win at Dave Marsh Field?

Oxford Bulls @ Green Mark Packers

The first of two match-ups that we already saw this season: In Week 11 the Oxford Bull visited the Packers and were sent home with a point differential of -31, as they were held to one fieldgoal which they scored on their very first drive. The Defense of the Packers came up big in this game, recording 6 Sacks, 3 Interceptions and allowing only 30 Rushing Yards, making the Offense of the Bulls one-dimensional.
Will the men of Oxford find a way to break the wall this time?

HAMBURG SEA LIONS @ VenoM

In the second recurring match-up from this season, first played in week 5 at HAMMER SPORTS PARK in Hamburg, the very first Postseason-trip of the SEA LIONS goes to Community Arena, home of VenoM. The host is a lot more experienced than the visitor, since it's his thirteenth (!!!) appearance in the playoffs... in a row.
BUT in Hamburg the SEA LIONS managed to win against the favorite by 30 points, scoring 27 unanswered in the second half. Maybe they are able to upset the favorite again

Good luck to everyone

Will now be playing in the playoffs for the 18th time in a row. Wouldn't exactly call the playoffs memorable for me - I've never made it to the Elite and I'm at least a couple of seasons away from a legitimate shot at it.

Wow, 18 Postseasons in a row? That's crazy

We're just experiencing first hand how gruelling the Playoffs can be, as we missed the chance to cushion the physical-condition-drop after a MOTY-game. The squad entering the field tonight will be half-dead by the end of Q2

Well, I've just washed the laptop in the shower to make sure it's not corrupted as the final score shows that I've won. I'm confused now as that doesn't happen very often in the playoffs for me. I might just get a sponge and wipe the hard drive.

Lost a very close low scoring game to the Knights today. After seeing problems at the end of the game, I've already fixed 2 things in my playbook and look to change a couple more. 2 runs in the endzone as time was running short, then a FG made even though i was down by 4. Thought i already had those situations planned out but i was wrong, lol. It may or may not have mattered, but better to fix it now.

Good hard fought game. Congrats to the Knights and the other teams moving on.

It seems you took it on yourself to deal with the canadians this time
To then advance into an all-english conference championship game?

I had noted a few formations that I wanted to do in the fourth quarter and just forgot to implement them :/ But even if we would have won: We played both teams from the Divisional Round this season, and lost both games. So it would've been VERY unlikely that we'd have been able to compete this time around... especially since the training was somewhat mismanaged, due to missing experience

The best game-day of a season is here, and the 8 best teams of the league battle it out today.
All but one match-up were already played at least once this season, so there’s a bit to every game

Glastonbury Grail Knights @ ChosenOnes

These two know each other since they both play in the AC South, so they met twice already. Both games were won by the home-team, so they split the record. With their win in week 12 the Grail Knights handed the ChosenOnes their only loss in this season. Can they do it again at PDVSA Coliseum, home of their opponent?

Green Mark Packers @ vamosahi

Like the Grail Knights to the ChosenOnes, the Green Mark Packers are responsible for the only loss that vamosahi had this regular season. AND the Packers did that at Ishmavao, the home field of vamosahi. They share a long history of games against each other, and the Packers came out on top more often than not. Will vamosahi be able to beat them today? Or will they bow out in the Divisional Round for the second year in a row?

Melittlemenon thepitchhitchin @ London Silverbacks

No one seemed more surprised about them advancing to the Divisional Round than the manager of the Melittlemen himself, lions1934. Now await the 2 seeded London Silverbacks, and although they did not meet in the regular season this time, the have a history of playing each other with some wild playoff-games 10 seasons ago. Of the last 10 official games, though, the Silverbacks only won two. But they surely want to show that they are better than last season, when they lost in the Championship Game to the eventual Bowl-Winner Devon Dog Solders. So who’ll come out on top in this one?

VenoM @ Amma’s Angels

The other team that lost a Championship Game last season is VenoM, who are playing in the Divisional Round for the second time in a row. Last year they won against vamosahi, this year they must go to the Spartan Coliseum of Amma’s Angels. The home team was nearly perfect this season and had only one loss… handed to them by the Motol Ducks who happen to play in the same Division as VenoM. So maybe the visiting team can look up what the Ducks did in that game and learn something on how to beat the Angels. Many teams could not...
