Good pick in Flowers last night too. Harbaugh is a terrific coach. Your reciever corp has improved tremendously, defense is never a question in Baltimore and if Jackson can stay on the field, the Ravens are definitely trending up.

Until a couple of years ago, the Patriots were the Big Dog in the AFC with 8 consecutive AFC Conference Finals appearances. Now in the last 6 years, KC has become the big dog and this is the their 6th consecutive AFC Conference Final (i hate shit like this), so this should be a very interesting game coming up this weekend.
But, THE BANK is not a place were you can do magic tricks, so it's time for Mahomes and KC to take a step back and for us to go UP baby. LET'S GO RAVENS Last edited on 2024-01-22 13:22:01 by Radu91 |

LET'S GO RAVENS I don't like the ravens (for obvious reasons) but they are, in my opinion, currently the best team in the AFC! I think there will be a ravens 49ers superbowl. But then I have to be in favor of the 49ers! With all due respect, I really don't want to see the Ravens as SB champs |

Nobody really understands that the games between us are not normal division game, they are rather a "i'm gonna knock your head of your shoulders" type of games and the level of rivalry and intensity are so high that you should better shut down the lights , but, i would give you a against KC any day (except if we are fighting for the division ). And i don't know just how you do it each year and make it to the playoffs. I guess miracles do happen , but you still need a QB. |

Yes, you can't describe the rivalry...it's really like a brutal bar fight! And nobody knows how it's going to end...no matter how the season goes for the clubs, nobody knows at the start of the game who will leave the pitch as the winner. But a lot of time will pass before our two teams really fight for the division win again. The Steelers need to do some team development now and find a good OC. You're going to be up there for the next couple years. The miracle is Tomlin! The guy is just an incredible coach and gets things out of players that very few coaches can. Plus, our defense is really good right now when everyone is fit. Without TJ, the defense is only half as good. Pickett isn't bad at all when he finally has an OC who can teach him NFL football properly. I think Pickett can still develop well and he gets a lot of unjust criticism, but we'll see next season. If it doesn't work out with him then we should definitely look around. I'm still annoyed today that we didn't take Lamar in the draft! I watched the draft back then and hoped the Steelers would pick him...I was so mad at everyone that he ended up going to you guys. But well, good for you guys! |

We were favorites this season against you, but in Pittsburgh we couldn't win and the final games doesn't really count because we rested most of the starters. But talking about the last few years, Tomlin sure does know how to win against us as you are leading 11-4 in the last 15 games, but keep in mind one thing. Most of these games were dog fights, with very close score starting from 1 point wins to 7 point wins in 12 of the last 15 games. K3m4li wrote:

The defense is great (as always) and with Tomlin as the HC you always find a way to win games that you shoudn't. K3m4li wrote:

I don't know, i'm not a fan of Pickett really. I just don't see him to great thing, at least at the level that BIG BEN has played, but i hope you are right and perhaps he will develop better in the future. We shall see. Lamar was a gamble really, everyone in Baltimore was hyped when he was drafted, but i wasn't a big fan at first. Even in his MVP season back in 2019, i always said that he can't win a SuperBowl like that. But, this season i am seeing something different. A pocket passer with great vision, waiting for the play to develop, scramble when needed and only run when other options are not available. Now this is a awesome change compared to 2019 MVP Lamar and this is why i know, think and hope that the SuperBowl will come back to us this season and perhaps in future season to. |

I didn't expect to win the first game, but I was glad that we did. The second game really doesn't count. I'm glad that you spared so many players and that we made the playoffs as a result. But as you say, every game is just close and nerve-wracking! I have a cousin who is a ravens fan and I just hope at every game that I can look him in the face at the end, grinning and happy, and see his anger there Radu91 wrote:

You can always see that in the games against each other. There are two geniuses who play an incredible game of chess against each other Radu91 wrote:

You can't even begin to compare Pickett with Big Ben! Ben is a legend! It will be a long time before Pickett is ready, if he is ready at all. But I don't see Pickett as being as good as Ben was when he came to us. Pickett is not going to be the franchise QB the Steelers need to compete for titles in the long run. We definitely need another QB for that Radu91 wrote:

I said back then that lamar would be the best QB out of everyone drafted that year (and there were quite a few). Of course he was like a wild horse at the beginning. He wanted to run a lot and prove himself. With time and his injuries, he matured and is now showing his passing skills much more. And his mobility and speed combined with his good vision and strong arm make him an incredibly dangerous Qb. You can never tell before a snap whether he will throw the ball, give it to a back or run himself. That opens up so many possibilities for an offense. And your defense can't adjust 100% to the play because anything can happen. Like I said, I would have liked to see him drafted by the Steelers instead of the crappy safety we got. Back then Big Ben was already old and I thought it would be good to let Lamar learn behind Big Ben until he's ready for the starting spot and then Ben can retire in peace |

Sorry to interupt your little chat, but one thing is for sure with NFL quarterbacks:
You never know, where to find them in the draft. High ranked QBs become good, great or suck. There is no way to tell, otherwise those teams taking the sucking guys would not take them. And some for the not so high or low ranked QBs. My personal take here is, a QB needs the right environment, the right coach(es) and the right time to GET into the league and to understand that now you have 11 good to great guys against you and not just 2-5. And not often that combination is not there and it just don't work out. Some of those get a 2nd chance, often somewhere else and most not. And Jackson was as much a gamble as many others. On paper one of those fast-run-first-QBs which will burn out faster than he can run, but he had the right combination and GOT the league, mean he did understand and adjust. Good for Baltimore, but that could have gone different with any other team. |
