Still excited by that win the other day, I've read the match report one more time and found out how much I was saved by the bell. The bell - in the 3rd quarter. A 6 yd rush TD... precisely as the clock ran out. Q3 00:00
 And eventually that one TD made a difference between a win and an OT.
Oh, and I've got a question, too. Regarding the playbook. I had one QB rush in that same match. I was surprised, because it didn't seem to be the situation in which I'd go for a rush specifically by QB. So I ran the situation check with the Playbook tool, and found that the formation used was matching the Playbook setting, and it was a rush, too. But a rush - not a rush by QB. Do I understand correctly that "a rush" always stands a small chance of being by QB? Or am I overlooking something here? It's not a complaint, mind you. I'll be actually happy to learn that I don't have to scatter these favourite plays of mine all over the PB

A quick answer, you had it in your playbook to rush, so any of the above, RB, FB or QB could handle the ball and carry it. Rush by QB is new to me and I am thinking of experimenting, with it. I am wondering how it effects the passing plays of a QB as runs should tire him out, though in this game it probably won't tire him and injuries shouldn't be a concern. So running him might be a real strategy. But again, it is a new feature to me.

No, if you setup a play for rush, the runner(s), HB and/or FB, do run.
Rush by QB is an extra option on the playbook setup. And if that is not set, my guess on the described situation is this: There is a small chance (I think under 2%) that the QB does OVERWRITE the selected play and I think in that case everything is possible as new play, in this case the QB rush. Regarding the time and the TD. Please remember that at the end of the 1st and the 3rd quarter the possession of the ball is not switched. If you would not have scored on that play 0:02 prior the end of the 3rd quarter, you would have had a 4th down start of the 4th quarter, or if the last play would have been 2 seconds longer, your 3rd down would have been start of the 4th quarter. |
