Last year my sf Mose F was my leader of interceptions with 9. He has 2 already this season. Well, this indeed happens if your natural SF plays CB. He got the INTs by playing CB, not SF. In this case my opponent didn't had "Pass Deep", but as Pete said before "On every 3rd down, they always try to get that 1st down" and this wasn't a 20 yards pass, it was 15 at the point of the interception and my SF did get the upper hand. Ooo, and this was a Friendly Cup game in power mode. 2:43 3 and 20 to go on own 38, Vasiliy Ananiev (OC) snaps the ball to Anuia Sanya (QB), Anuia Sanya (QB) selected Eino Vartiainen (WR/L) as target, Andrei Cazac (DE/L) breaks through the line, Amir Omer (FB/R) blocks, Aurica Armas (MLB) seems to go for the blitz, he passes outer left for 15 yards to him, intercepted by Radu Ilie (FS/R) on the opp 47 (Shotgun 4 WR vs. Dime 4DL MLB 4CB 2SF) Last edited on 2023-09-19 10:13:05 by Radu91 |

Do I understand correctly?
I am right that blitz increases the chances of SF interception, but completely wrong in my guess that SF should be set to non-zero blitz participation? And totally wrong assuming that in a blitz the role of an FS (both in RZA and IRL) is to concentrate on TE's, too? ![]() Last edited on 2023-09-19 10:50:15 by jpnwrt |

They are the last line of defense, so if you blitz one, and the CB misses the tackle, you are more likely to give up a long TD pass |

He was cb at the beginning of the year but I did switch him over during the season to sf.

I typically have strong defenses each season. Usually top 5 or 6.
My lb get a lot of sacks and they also get plenty of int as well. I had 2 lb with 8 int, ohe lb with 6 int, and 4 cb combined for 19 int. wsfjlt wrote:

It is nice to see safeties getting some interceptions, but it is low for a defensive back that plays in coverage. I would also state that if that is your best player on interceptions, I would think about improving my CBs and LBs. My CB 1 has 5 and CB 2 4 My linebackers have 4 between them with one of them having 3., but my safties have none and in their carrer stats they have none. |

Yes, i was thinking exactly the same thing when i first saw this play. But still, it's a 3rd and 20 and the player tries to go for that first down. Even if it was a 20 yards pass it doesn't mean that he had pass deep in the playbook. Talking about what was said before, after every sack it's an 85% chance that it's followed by a 15-20 yards pass and a 1st down. That indeed happens even if you don't have "Pass Deep" or "Pass Medium" in the playbook. And that was the case above because on 2nd and 10 it was a sack and a loss of 10 yards. |

Please keep in mind that the playbook option 'pass' does try to get a 1st down.
That means, once you have more than 10 yards to overcome it can happen that 'pass' reacts as 'pass middle' or even 'pass long' and therefore the INT chance does rise. And the reason for SFs not having much INTs is from my point of view the result of the sinulation design, which seems to put the SF always in the 2nn line of defense and since most passes are short, they just don't have a chance to catch one. |
