Does training Catching on a HB and/or a FB do anything? I've trained my primary HB in Catching, got it to about 38, but I've yet to see any statistical difference in his catching stats. I do occasionally see some RB's with catching stats, so, does it help or not? Or is this rather a matter of the game engine just randomly selecting a RB occasionally, regardless of the backs Catching ability? I need some clarification. Thanks!

This is not fully right. The engine can pick the HB or FB to receive a pass. You cannot force this by the playbook directly. But if the HB or FB gets selected to be a pass receiver, catching helps to execute the play. Would I train my FBs or HBs in catching? Only if all other skills are where I think they should be.

There was someone who did a test recently by passing only flanks and i don't remember exactly, but there were some passes directed to the RB. I never seen a pass to the FB, does that happen? |

3 and goal to go on opp 2, Olin Alaniz (OC) snaps the ball to Rolland Gorman (QB), Rolland Gorman (QB) selected Ken Marcum (HB/R) as target, Louis Anderson (DE/R) breaks through the line, Jamar Eagle (FB/C) blocks, this outer right pass goes to the receiver, who catches the ball, Ken Marcum (HB/R) tackled by Ante Thomas (CB/L), forward progress: 2 yards, touchdown
Neil Mcdaniel (K) kicks the ball for the PAT, PAT is good So it does happen... oddly this is my second RB, not my starter, and his catching is a whole 10.5, but yeah, this is a rarity I think. |

The "" around smart are there for a reason, btw. However, I won't tell more on this subject, so please don't ask ![]() |
