This season I win 10 of my 11 victory(in the next week I'm agaist a bot)agaist a bot team. This has not been a fun season.
At the moment we have 152 teams from all league 1.
I suggest to reduce the league 1 to 4 with a full roster of 128 teams and a single league 2 with 24 teams.
8 promotion from league 2 to league 1
8 relegated teams, 2 from each league, one per conference with playout between the 8 worst of each conference.
In RZA elite league the 4 best teams of each league 1.
New teams starting directly from league 2.
It could be a better advertising to see a game plenty of human teams.
I think it can be work.

Changes on the structure were suggested over and over again.
Seems it is not easy to change it and many processes and rules are connected to the current system.
So, likely no change here.

But you never know.

As the RZA universe is currently programmed, making changes is very complicated. A new structure would need to be created, and that's too complex with the game's current philosophy.

One of the game's appeals is precisely this NFL-style structure. When there are many users, it's perfect; when there are few, it's a problem.

Games with a pyramidal structure (most of them) don't have this issue when they have few players, as all active players concentrate at the top. In RZA, we have 8 zones, each with its own top, and a minimum of 256 active teams are needed to fill everything up.

If we could each run 2 teams (maybe you need to have been in RZA for say 3 years) we could increase the numbers to fill the leagues.

To avoid having to police cheating, the second team could be banned from making transfers and would have to be in a different League from the coach's main team.

Probably too much hassle for Pete to consider.

If Pete asks us, only if he wants it and says so clearly and directly, I could look for programmers near home who would be willing to do the work of transforming the 'NFL-style leagues' into 'pyramidal-style leagues' and finance the project.
And it also depends on the price, obviously.

Well, it might be interesting idea to add some option to have something like a second team. It could be B-team, or Youth team lets say U23. This team would have to be in a different league than A-team, and it would be banned from Elite league. It might serve as Youth Academy basically, but the players there would actually play the games. These teams could fill up the empty spots and it would be for sure more fun to play against U23 teams than against BOTs. Especially for new managers, because one of the problems for them is BOT team are boring easy win and teams with managers are boring hard loss. U23 would be more on their lvl.
Players could go from U23 to A-team when they turn 24 automatically, or sooner if manager says so. It would need some polishing and working out the details and set few rules, but it might be interesting. Not sure how much programming this would need, but it could make the game more interesting even for new managers...

By far the biggest issue with more than one team is the non-ability to check in an automatic way if there is no losing on purpose involved if those 2 teams face each other in an official competition.

If a manager's 2 teams play, give the higher-ELO team an automatic win?

I would say the solution might be not to allow them to play against each other. So they cant be in the same league and they cant be in the same supercup group. Checking if there is already a team with the same manager shouldnt be so hard to code I guess.
