I just offered a free agent player a contract worth this season and another season on the transfer market.
The offer was exact the amount the estimated amount was. The offer was accepted and the player is on my roster (as a test) and was surprisingly placed on to the youth academy roster and since he is 20 years old, he is marked as red in the youth academy to leave at rollover. EDIT: By that the academy has now 23 players, instead of allowed 22! Axel Bring As of my understanding, the player should have been put on to senior roster. I did this several times in the past and all 20 year old offered a contract did land in my senior roster, which makes sense, since I offered a contract, I did not bid and got the award. Bidding and getting the award -> if space in the YA, go there, if no space, go senior roster. As far as I know, that works. Offer a contract and the player accepts -> go to senior roster, at least that what I expect, since I want to pay him a weekly wage. Here in my case I have 2 issues, the first being that he went to YA. If that is intended for up to 20 year old, then that did not work in the past well. Example Keon Tomlinson who got also a contract (with different wage and below the expected wage) and went to senior team, just a few weeks ago. The second issue is, even IF the player should have gone to YA, as long as there is space, he shouldn't have gone there, since I already had 22 players there and he is now my 23rd. And it is not written explicitly, where such a player should land, but I think the rule should be at least consistant. So 20 and offer join senior or 20 and offer and join YA if space available and else senior. Here I now have neither of that. And shouldn't a fresh player from the market to YA also have a free transfer to senior team ticket. That is also not there. So my guess is, the code does not cover that case bug free. |

Are you sure you did negotiate, not bid? In case of a bid, the way to the YA would be as it should be. The question would then be why he was added when the academy was full already, but this is the second step.

I did offer a contract to test some wage topic after rollover and he was still Hours away from being at the end of the bidding period. He is also documented in my roster history that way. |

I know what happened. They player was marked to be a youngster in his former team. He was either fired out the academy of that team, or went bot while being an academy member. This way, the youngster mark was kept during your negotiation. This is just a bug. Wanted behavior: join the senior team, since one cannot negotiate with youngster by rule.
Fixing it now for the future |
