Why can't we add coaches Contracts, to keep their salaries in check like players? There already is a mechanism for player negotiation so this shouldn't be difficult to implement for coaches as well...

It IS annoying to see the coaches salary go up every year without a possibility to lower it, so this might not be a bad idea for people using the HR department ![]() |

It IS annoying to see the coaches salary go up every year without a possibility to lower it, so this might not be a bad idea for people using the HR department ![]() Just think it through please. The current coaches wages are based on CP and EXP calculated with some randomness I think at the start and from there, because EXP does rise from time, it goes upwards. If you compare that to a player, it's quite similar, just skill value instead of CP and just under no HR activated and with some freeze on his skill development, just EXP gain. Similar. Now you ask for HR similar contracts. If the same for coaches would be valid as for players (with again freeze on skills values, just gain on EXP) the coach would be roughly 15% cheaper on signing and then with the EXP gain after contract prolongation you get the large gain (normally after 2 or 3 seasons) and you either would exchange the coach or prolong the coach. Exchanging the coach is with the current coaches market a pain, since the right combination of CP, CON and maybe even EXP is never available when needed. So, either you let the coach go and wait for the next guy coming someday or you prolong, which will cost you then the huge increase. That all said ... where is the gain on that suggestion, beside you all want cheaper initial wages for the contract? Fewer steps after rollovers? |

I just want to be able to keep my coaches wages in check and save money because they keep going up and its kinda annoying, and I don't see why it can't be done...

Now that I think about it more I can definitely see why this isn't already done, but good idea pitch anyway.

I know but you could stop that from going up and Pete could modify the negotiating mechanism for coaches to address this concern

I guess so I just wanted something to keep the coaches wages in check and since there was player contracts I though coaches contracts shouldn't be such an abstract concept

The general idea is not bad, giving the managers the option to have a bit more control on the coaches contracts.
a) the contracts will likely not become cheaper, I see no reason for that. But you never know b) taking away the EXP gain would ruin the coaches concept, so stopping the wage gain in total is very likely a no go c) renegotiating with coaches would be OK, I guess. That would lead to some sort of larger wage gain steps than today, which might be OK from managers d) I don't see the other benefits of contracts for players with coaches, like franchise contracts and age related decrease on demand |
