I'm opening a new thread following another one opened in Suggestions, where we ended up talking about the factors that most influence the game. My opinion is that the playbook is not a global determining factor in the game. Complementary yes, but not determining. I think that Experience is the most important factor and that it directly affects the team's game. If you have a good team with players with good skills and with 5* Exp you don't need an excellent playbook. Managing to retain players with good skills for a long time in your squad without their salaries skyrocketing and increasing Experience season after season, I think that is the key point of the game (at high levels).

yeah well in order to do that you would have to use hr department and train your players very well but that's certainly a possibility...

I tend to agree about experience being the most important, but i tend to look at the overall picture. I think there are many things that you have to do in this game to be towards the top of the ladder. Experience, your playbook and scouting opponent's past games playbooks, getting the right players from draft/youth academy/transfer market, skill and wage management, and of course bring in as much money from a maxed out stadium/ fan shop/ media center.
With my past teams, and soon to be my current team, i try to manage playing time especially in bot and friendly games to get as much experience as i can to players at the right time in their careers. Getting high exp is important to me. But I've also seen in the past where an underdog wins against a bigger team because of playbooks. Good playbook and/or good adjustments from the lower team vs the favored team that may need to improve their playbook or have a predictable game plan. |
