Okay, I've played around with the offensive playbook a bit and maybe there is a way to do this that I'm not aware, but I can't see it with the given parameters:

quarter
on down
yards to go
distance to GL
score
clock
formation
pass/rush
direction

On 1 and 10, I'd list to do call a particular play "most of the time" or "some of the time", but not all the time. I don't see a way to do that.

Wondering if you could add a field for like percentage of the time, so that you could still script you plays, but not be 100% predictable.

You could then setup:

"Rush right out of Pro-set" on 1st and 10, 60% or "most of the time"
"Med. pass out of Pro-set" on 1st and 10, 20% or "some of the time"

This way you could pick the play time for 1st and 10, but you wouldn't be doing the same thing all the time necessarily. Right now, I think you either hit a match and do that or its totally random right?

Are you playing GLB? The guys overthere have such options.

I was in doubt if their way to create playbooks is understandable. Whats the managers opinion?

a little excessive and unless the defence options increased would be uncounterable. it would also make scouting your opponents pointless to a degree for the virtually unlimited variables on offer.

OddBall.. but thats how it is in football.

I think this suggestion is paramount to taking the game to the next level because no football team does the same thing in a particular situation EVERY time. Each team/coach has his tendancies of course but if they pulled the same tricks everytime they might as well scream across the field where the play is going and who's getting the ball.

A defensive coach can't guard against a particular play but rather an offensive team's tendancies.

I can guarantee that you won't like the playbook the way it is now when you start getting scouted and gameplanned for. It won't be hard to do once people are used to this system. I think there definitely needs to be more variation. Of course I've posted a few threads trying to get something going....

I think for now you have enough option to vary your playbook.

You have 4 Quarters, 20 field sectors, and 15 common "down&yards to go" combinations.

So you can create 1200 combinations for every situation on the field without the score and time option.
