7:30 3 and 9 to go on own 49, Hung Sheffield (OC) snaps the ball to Carson Ashcraft (QB), Carson Ashcraft (QB) selected Shannon Millard (WR/L) as target, the receiver of this medium outer left pass catches the ball, there is no defensive back around to tackle him, this was a 51 yards pass (Pro set vs. 5-3-3)
7:14 touchdown

Okay, I'm trying to figure out the game engine and how these formation are leading to such plays. Basically, this is a medium pass completed against a 5-3-3 defensive formation.

Since there are 3 LBs and 3 DBs, shouldn't there be one in each of the zones some how? I mean I know there are 5 zones across, but with only 3 DBs, does that mean that 2 of the 5 zones are not defended against medium passes? So a completed pass in those zones always goes for a TD?

So how does that work with 4 DBs??

Just a hint:

This "no DB around" is mainly based on the facts:

where on the field is the receiver, and how long it takes to go to the endzone

where on the field are the DBs, and how long takes it for them to get to the receiver.

If this calculation comes to no results = no DB is able to reach the receiver before this guy scores...."No DB around"
