Have to add: maybe newbees start with

Ass. Coach rushing: 25
Ass. Coach passing: 25
Ass. Coach tactic: 25
Ass. Coach OL: 25
Ass. Coach DL: 25

Ass. Coach DB: 25
Ass. Coach Special Team: 25

Overall Ass. Coach level: 200

Now you can buy maybe a higher "Ass. Coach rushing". He costs a certain amount of money per week. He improves your "Ass. Coach rushing" rating maybe to 50, which gives you a X% boost on rushing in the game, instead of the bonus you had from the basic "Ass. Coach rushing". But he decreases the value of all other by (50 - 25) / 7 = ~ 3.6, and the new picture would be


Ass. Coach rushing: 50
Ass. Coach passing: ~21.4
Ass. Coach tactic: ~21.4
Ass. Coach OL: ~21.4
Ass. Coach DL: ~21.4
Ass. Coach LB: ~21.4
Ass. Coach DB: ~21.4
Ass. Coach Special Team: ~21.4

Overall Ass. Coach level: 200

This way we could form more different teams. Next step could be adding a OL Coach as example, who lowers al the other values so it sums up to 200, always..

Sounds worse...

I like it fellow managers... This way... the coaches you hire and the tactics you want must be in tune. Similar to player hiring and development.

Admin seems to have the right idea.. He mixed my initial suggestion with all the other well thought out ideas... I like it...

The thing is: we have to make sure that newbees are able to be competitors on the field...it shouldnt be that way a newbee starts with 0 Assistant COaches, IMO.

Good point... i would say the obvious solution is making the standard quality coaches cheaper.. but to your point..

In a few seasons.. newbie managers are going to have a tough time either making promotion or keeping from getting relegated because of how solid a foundation the more veteran teams have.

Newbie managers will spend most of their time developing stadium.. cant do anything in the transfer market.. etc.

The point you bring up is I think your team should never be in autopilot. In the NFL the parody in the league is like non other in all of sport. In order for new managers to make MAJOR break throughs the biggest emphasis on building a quality team must be through the draft. I think most fans of football know that is true and if you like for Newbies to have a solid chance at beating some of the soon to be titan teams... must make importance of the Draft second to none.

Having coaches as the same way as we have players.

That includes hire them, salary, attributes, transfearmarket for trainers, positions, training, ability to change position and so on

having positions like the ones you describes pete but not with that system.

also, you could have as many trainers as you would like to have on a single position but 2 trainers isent twice as efficient as 1.
ex. 1 trainer add 20% in training on a specific skill, but 2 trainers maybe add 34% or something, but if you also add attributes for trainers aswell, that would decide the outcome for how efficient a trainer would be at that position.

I like the idea of having trainers and so on like players with skills.
You even can try to have coaching clinics and so on to make them better.
