What do you guys set your "Fitness / Energy you want start to substitute your players?" value to?

Even though my players have good PC, it seems like my backup and starters all play the same amount of time. Ideally, you'd think the backups wouldn't play that much (maybe 20%)?

I don't know, maybe I have to be more aggressive with this. I've mostly been in the vicinity of <85% - - what's it like if you use <50%?

Why not giving it a try? Can tell, I am using the standard, I did not change it so far.

Just thinking out loud here....

I'm with Admin: I'm still on the default.

As Steve pointed out, that generally means my starters and subs are playing about the same amount (my brief observation is that starters go about 1 series before subs start to rotate in).

In Season 1, I decided that made sense as there is not much quality difference with my players, and I like having my 3 RBs rotating as it seemed to work okay.

However, after the draft I expect to have at least 2 positions where there is enough of a dropoff in quality that I will want to play the starter more than the backups. So I will be experimenting soon....

I started the last season playing my second team after half-time. Then it was only in the 4th quarter, and by game six I set it to "don't substitute all game long". Worked well enough for a 13-3 record and a berth in the conference final. Okay, I got slaughtered there, but I don't think that was because of my substitution settings.

I guess I was trying to get an idea what the consensus was. I've dropped my setting to something lower and seen my starter play more and some positions I don't sub at. But what is hard to evaluate is how starters with degraded energy play versus fresh substitutes.

I would use the friendly cup to experiment with to find out. Since all players are at the same level it would provide good base line data.
