Guys, it is very easy. Just break down the gameplay into the different situations

Rush:

Snap (C-QB) - handover (QB-RB) - block calculation (5 OL - 3-5 DL) - Blitz calculation - rush vs DL - rush vs DBs

Pass

Snap (C-QB) - receiverselection - block calculation (5 OL - 3-5 DL) - blitz calculation - coveragecalculation (WR - CB/OLB) - catching calculation - interception calculation - rush calculation, based on the point of catching and the left backfield

This means for pass: there are many more stages where an "stop this play" flag could be thrown inside the engine, and many more different players and skills are involved.

This is why at low level teams as ours are at the moment, the pass does not work as expected. When you learned football, what was the first thing you tried? Throwing a pass. Then you learned how hard it is to throw an exact bomb, how hard it is to catch those bombs while you are at the new record for 40 yards...and you switch to learn rushing.

This being said, we are working on the right way to tweak the overal average catching distance, but this will take some time, and for sure we won't do such upgrades on the engine during the season. This is not changing a single line, as Jacks results from yesterday are showing very impressive.

What we need: discussion, patience.

Even in real life passing, overall, takes more team coordination. Sure wr's block on running plays, but not always.

Rushing is the best weapon right now, but it will change. Even in the nfl there are swings in the balance. The 70's it was sling it down the field and run up the gut. The 80's started the west coast offense of using the passing game like an extension of the running game, but rb's still dominated quite a bit. The 90's started the move towards today where it is pass happy. Of course part of that is the ridiculous rules in place to protect the qb (who is another player on the field like everyone else). I'm sure that the NFL will eventually get back to the run teams as it is slowly trickling back that way in some ways.

I would say we are playing on college level now and you rarely see Navy or Army to pass.

Dear Admin, may I please ask sth? You say on rush, other than in "Blitz calculation", there is NO linebacker involvement? That's surely wrong, isn't it? Or did you simply forget to add "rush vs LB" between DL and DB?

based on the direction of rushing.

Outer: DE - OLB/CB - SS - FS

Inner: DE/DT/NT - MLB - SS - FS

of course only, if the position is set on the formation, and in distance to tackle.

My offer.

Snap (C-QB) - block calculation (5 OL - 3-5 DL) - blitz calculation - coveragecalculation (WR - CB/OLB) - receiverselection (based on coveragecalculation, and QB vision and intellect) - catching calculation - interception calculation - rush calculation

The actual calulation could is not right and not wrong. I think a QB has his primary target in his mind before the snap. Depending on the coverage and blizing of the D, he would chance his target, if he is a good QB. So I suggest to add a chance that the QB can change his target.
Snap - Target selection - block calculation - block calculation (5 OL - 3-5 DL) - blitz calculation - coveragecalculation (WR - CB/OLB) % for other target selection, if there is a blitz or the target well covered - catching calculation
The % could be depend on Intelligence,Passion, Vision

Intelligence + [(Passing/2)+(Vision/2)=XX% that the QB chance his target

Example: 40 INT + (24/2) + (20/2) = 62% that the QB s e l e c t another target
