Also: Experience could be included in decision making for QBs.....

Pass Snap (C-QB) - receiverselection - block calculation (5 OL - 3-5 DL) - blitz calculation - coveragecalculation (WR - CB/OLB) - catching calculation - interception calculation - rush calculation, based on the point of catching and the left backfield My offer. Snap (C-QB) - block calculation (5 OL - 3-5 DL) - blitz calculation - coveragecalculation (WR - CB/OLB) - receiverselection (based on coveragecalculation, and QB vision and intellect) - catching calculation - interception calculation - rush calculation The actual calulation could is not right and not wrong. I think a QB has his primary target in his mind before the snap. Depending on the coverage and blizing of the D, he would chance his target, if he is a good QB. So I suggest to add a chance that the QB can change his target. Snap - Target selection - block calculation - block calculation (5 OL - 3-5 DL) - blitz calculation - coveragecalculation (WR - CB/OLB) % for other target selection, if there is a blitz or the target well covered - catching calculation The % could be depend on Intelligence,Passion, Vision Intelligence + [(Passing/2)+(Vision/2)=XX% that the QB chance his target Example: 40 INT + (24/2) + (20/2) = 62% that the QB s e l e c t another target I think it is to low. Another case Intelligence*1,5 +Vision/2 Example: 40*1,5 + 20/2 = 70 % |

I don't think the passing skill should be involved in the selection process of an alternative receiver - surely the passinig skill is his ability to actually deliver the pass once he had decided where he is throwing?
(Int*1.5)+(vision*0.5) ought to be enough. edit - exactly as dark_wing said - note to self - read ALL posts before posting Last edited on 2011-12-15 08:59:51 by JonnyP |

Or (Int*1.5)+(vision*0.5)+(Experience*0.5) Making the 2nd/3rd/etc read gets easier with experience Or ((Int*1.5)+(vision*0.5)+(Experience*0.5))*TC/100 Would effectively limit new QBs to just the primary receiver, although a very smart experienced QB might still have some success. It can be tested. |

I think the admin know now our idea and know what is possible in the engine and could think about a good formula.

Generally, there is a fullback or somebody coming out of the backfield for a short pass that is the last resort. Steve SD Blitz |

I didn't mean the run after the catch, I was thinking more about the pass coverage:
coveragecalculation (WR - CB/OLB) implies that Safeties and MLBs aren't involved in coverage. But perhaps that was an omission, but it doesn't list TEs either. Steve SD Blitz |
