Many fumbles recoveries by Defense in NFL are not followed by returns. But in the games, it seems that all the Fumbles recoveries by Defense lead to Fumble return...

In my last five or six games, my opponent has scored, at least, one fumble return for a TD. Even bots!

I had the same impression for fumbles. For a recovery every player need 2-3 seconds to controll the ball. After this time there must be 1-3 defenders around the player with a chance to tackle the player.

I also have a weird impression on passing game and interception (but I haven't look for more check so it's just a raw thought here). Most of the time passes go for a max of 9 yards... But interceptions seem to be made at a minimum of 10/15 yards after the LoS according to game description... It seems weird...

My thoughts on fumbles:
1. I was thinking about this as well. Other than plain stupid mistakes, there was one sure way to get the coaches upset, and that was to try to pick up a fumble and run with it. They drilled into every player to first get possession of the ball. Only after certain possession of the ball would it be OK to attempt to run with it.

Maybe it would be possible to have a certain percentage of the fumbles have no return. (Hmmm, I am not sure I want this, since I have benefited from long fumble returns in some of my recent games. )

2. While we are on the topic of fumbles, I haven't noticed any wide receivers or tight ends fumble the ball after a reception. Is this just chance, or are fumbles by WR and TE not in the engine yet?

3. I was going to mention fumbles after a QB gets sacked, but I just noticed that it is on the To Do list. Therefore, please do not read this number 3.

The yards on interceptions are on todo, since 2 weeks. I noticed the description (number of yards) is odd

sigh, today in my game, right now, it is a tight 3-0 game with me in the lead. I am driving down to his 35 yard line when my rb fumbles and it is returned for 31 yards. Next few plays he scores a touchdown.
