I bring this topic once again, because I think the Teamrating is worthless at the moment and confuse especially new Managers.
One example: I pulled a Youth direkt to my rooster and made him a RB. This player will never play in the next 2 seasons. My Rushing rating with this player is 38.8 and without him it is 40.0. If my opponent goes to my page he see the 38.8 and think that I have not a good rushing game. The true strenght of my rushing game is hiddden So I have different ideas: 1a. Take only the players in the DC into teamrating calculation (How to handle if a player is twice in the DC) 1b. Calulation like 1a, but weigh the ranking in the DC different (1. Position 50%, 2. Position 30%, 3. Position 20%). The player on position 1 will have in the game a higher impact than the others. 2. Show on the teampage the teamrating like it is now, but show in the Gamereport a teamrating only with the players, which played in the game. So you can get the true teamrating with a little bit of scouting. 3. Every Team s e l e c t a favourite offense- and defense formation (hidden or shown on the teampage). Only the 11 best players for both formations will be shown at the teampage. I know that is is a lot of work to write a better teamrating. In my opinion the teamrating will be more and more unsharped with introducing Assistand coaches and useless. So in the near or far future a new calculation is needed. Other opinions or Ideas? |

Very good suggestions!
Also think that a team rating number on team page is confusing, especially for newbees. Therefore, we would also prefer to eliminate this number completely. But also the 2nd suggestion is a quite good one. If you see in the after game stats what real rating the team had for this particular game, so you can value your win/loss much better. |

I have another Idea, for a better rating (not perfect) and a may be easier implementing.
4. Stay with the acutal calculation, but implement a "practice squad". You can have only 55 (or 53 like in reality) in your normal rooster for the teamrating and up to 15 players on your "practice squad". You can substitute players in the normal rooster with players form the "practice squad" as often als wanted, but you can only put players from your normals squad to your DC. |

Maybe this may cause even more confusion for the newbees, although the idea itself makes sense.

Don't get me wrong, but this last offer sounds like more confusion

What we could do:
We calculate the rating based on the players that were involved in the last official game (Team page) or the actual game (Gamecenter), based on the positions of the involved players in the DC. Edit: changed from "based on roster positions" to "based on DC positions" Last edited on 2012-01-01 14:13:39 by Admin |

One step back
We could do it as described above, but not based on the DC - the information is simply not available. So it would be based on the roster positions, but only for involved players in the game (based on their "# of plays" from the game stats |

Or maybe base it on DC from last competitive game in terms of standard pro set formation (or most used formation?):
Example: 5 best OL best QB best RB best FB best TE 2 best WR And same on defense: 3/4/5 best DL 2/3/4 best LB 3/4/5/6 best DB (1 SS/1 FS/ 2 CB) And erm, it's ROSTER, not ROOSTER Buffalo , a rooster is a cockerel (male chicken) Last edited on 2012-01-01 14:26:58 by JonnyP |

OK, then as you suggested - the players involved in the most plays
