Tex, will you raise the importance of Playoff/Bowl games, or do they "count" in the same way as regular games?

Is it possible to just calculate a bot team at half value vs a human team?
I wouldn't think he would in the playoffs as teams who get eliminated will fall further and further and by then we already know they are not better than the ones still in (that is in general anyway). |

I had no intention on doing the playoff thing...
It is possible I suppose, but it would take a reload of only the playoff teams and not sure I could keep up... Of course, I recon the list would grow smaller and smaller... I think for the playoffs what would be more fun is a matchup predictor, and I don't have a clue about that..... YET...!!! |

If anything changes at all for next season it will be reported here... |

Hey guys and welcome to season 3 and a new rankulator...
Looked like we were going to have a full crew this season, but go figure, we already have 10 bots across the leagues... This brings me to the update... Firstly, I have taken sfniners suggestion and rated all non-bots at twice that of a bot... You should know that when any team goes bot, it will be reduced at that time... I mention this because it may impact some of you through the season, as in, you may have played the team at full strength, but he will only count half strength if he goes bot at any time, this will impact your SOS... (There is no way to break this team up and score it in two different categories)... This allows me to bring all ratings back to normal and will be as such... Your winning percentage will weigh - 33.33% Your Margin of Victory (MOV) will weigh - 33.33% Your Strength of Schedule (SOS) will weigh - 33.33% Also, since we do in fact now have some bots, to control the MOV against those teams, I have limited MOV to a maximum of you guessed it 33 points... This will be true for all teams whether they are bot or not... You may defeat a team by 70, but will only get credit for 33... This narrows the window on runaway victories, and compensates to some extent for those guys that may have played an opponent at full strength and gotten a narrow margin of victory or a loss, and when it went bot, teams are killing it by 90 every game... I will begin to post rankings after game 3... Obviously it does no one any favors to see a ranking when half of the league won and half of the league lost... It also gives me an opportunity to see if the new system is working as we all hope... The one thing that scares me is, that since all bots are rated at only half of us non-bots, does the rankulator see their SOS as twice that of ours... In other words will all the bots be ranked 1 through 10 at the start... See you again on your league boards after game 3... |
