160 points is what, 1.6 skill points...right? So with 25 weeks training you are getting 40 sp. So it would take a full season to max physicals to 35 and 5-10 points somewhere else....

The gears in my head are starting to turn here...

16 year old youth at the beginning of a season starts out with say 20 speed and 20 strength. Not awesome but not awful either. Say you raise both to 35. You still have 10 sp. Put those into a main attribute and you have a 17 year old at the beginning of the next season who has 35/35 physicals and potentially 20 in a main attribute (the extra training you could put there when physicals max combined with the 10 sp and potential 8 starting point).

17 years old, season 2 for this player. Another 40 points. Continue using the regular training for physicals and put those 40 in say the primary attribute and a few secondary attributes.

In 2 season you could realistically have a player that looks like this:

35-40 Speed
35-40 Strength
30 blocking
15 footwork
15 agility

If you had only say 125 points that would equate to around 31 sp a season so take off 18 combined from the above.

Keep him until the end of his 18 year old season?

My point is that within 2 to 3 season you have someone coming up that is just as good as the drafted players if you get the right intelligence or teamwork. Some of the drafted players are 19, so you if you keep them one more year they would be better than the drafted players.

Is this correct? If so, this will completely change the TM and prices will level out or even fall in the long term.

My last youth pull was a 16 year old 5 talent with 28 strength 21 speed, and near 10 in many non physical areas. When he is 19 he will be beefy...

Nice post by sfniner, and I completely agree. And the example is with a 20 strength/20 speed youth pull. Now imagine a 16 yo player with 25/25 or 22/27 or even 27/27 in these physicals.

I wonder though when the TM will change completely, since such a player is probably the best out there right now, and is needed for the senior team of that team. So the question is, after these players start to emerge, and until the TM has these types of "regular" payers to bid for, will teams with 10 AC have a short term advantage over teams with 5-6 stronger AC? Altough the random cap for physicals can be a b*tch...

Yeah, but you need more than one good O-Linemen every other year to be competitive.

Well, I'm saying it is like getting an extra draft pick. In 4 seasons when you have had 12 draftpicks plus a few of these handmade players you will have a heck of a team. It is a lot better than it used to be!

And a lot more expensive. Factoring in the coaches Think it's starting to be a managing game right there...
