I'm thinking maybe another round should be implemented in the playoffs, to double the teams entering it. (Yes, I'm annoyed my 13-1 record isn't good enough.
 )
But the way it is now, it's based on how many bot teams you got in your division, if you make it or not. I guess the problem will be the same, if you double the amount of teams going into playoffs. But; 13-1  |

im sat at #51 but my last game is against 48 so i expect us both to miss out regardless of who wins due to it probably being a close game so the winner will drop down due to other teams beating bots easily  |

But; 13-1 That's the magic behind a Cup... You never know if the random output will be in your favor or not... But at least, we have the luck to play 15 games before being kicked out |

I'm torn apart by this.
One thing is: yes it is not fair to not participate, because you played a tougher division than a manager with most of them bots or new teams. So going to 96 (one round more including a wild card week) or even 128 (no wild card, direct knock out for all teams) would solve some issues. Other thing is: what about a 12-2 team? 11-3? There will always be tougher divisions and walk trough divisions. So it would help much, just transfering ther problem to a different level. Play hard and win and you are in ... Torn apart ... as I said. |

Why should a team with a easy schedule get a bye week? 128 would be directly KO and an additional round. 64 playoff spots would be ok, too. Last edited on 2012-01-20 07:25:48 by Buffalo |

This reply isn't directly related to the SuperCup, but isn't there exactly the same issue regarding League Playoffs?
Please correct me if I'm wrong, but the teams with most wins will enter playoffs, obviously. However, when there's 2 teams with the same "win/loss margin", next stat that's looked at is "points difference", isn't it? Therefore the team that played more bots will have the advantage, although the team with the worse "points difference" may have beaten the tougher opponents. That's also unfair! |

I don't know if it is so much a question of "fair" or "unfair". Maybe it is more a question of "luck" or "bad luck" with the division you end up in.
I got lucky this year. However, last year I won my Supercup division, but didn't make the playoffs so it was bad luck. Adding more teams to the playoffs wouldn't make it more fair. It would just mean more teams get lucky enough to make it into the playoffs. On the other hand, I would not have anything against adding more teams to the playoffs. This just means another game or two for my little Hippos to play before we make it to the finals. (OK, there is no chance of making the finals this season, but even Hippos like to dream.)

I wouldn't mind either adding more teams to the playoffs, as long as it doesn't mean the season lasts even longer.
Teams not making the playoffs already have to sit and watch a pretty long time, without getting any income (except for the odd friendly).. |

I'm with Toni on this one. I wouldn't mind more teams in the playoffs, but extending the current wait time for those who didn't make it should be out of the question. Altough I don't know how this could be done for example for teams that's gotten into supercup playoffs, league playoffs, and is in the champ of champ cup as well, without doing multiple games a day.

i would just be removing the bye week and putting the top 64 in a straight knockout set up that way it takes the same number of weeks as it is now
