Hi, we face a strange situation.

There is a manager who is an early bird, he was a tester too.

He joined this game during the first days of season 1. Since that point he did nothing else than adding some hundred seats twice to his stadium.

Now he bought quite good coaches, and released them again, he had to pay the contractual penalty. This turned him into the dark red on his accounting balance, and it seems there is NO chance for him to repair this situation.

In my opinion, it was a bad move when he hired / purchased things and staff, without taking care for any economical forecasts.

But what to do? Let him deal with the situation? He won't make it into the green, because he can't sell stuff the get back several millions. And he can't raise the stadium capacity, because he is in the red.

Should we add loans to the game? Maybe only if you are below xxxx $, and you have a one time shot by using this money for stadium construction only?

So here is the way I would add it:

if you have less than -1,000,000 on your account, no coaches and staff, and no facilities:

you can add 2 stands of the stadium to the max, and the banker will give you loan to bring your account to zero at that moment, including the stadium construction fee. You have to pay 5% interest, and every night we will pay back all existing money on the account to the bank, to pay back the loan as fast as possible.

Example: you are in minus wit 5,000,000, and your two stands stadium construction adds 10,000,000 million, then you are allowed to build those stands, and the banker pays 15,000,000 loan

Any ideas, or even a harsh "not our fault, let the team die"?

He can sell one of his drafted guys. I think he would get 20-30 Mio$. Or will he not survive the finacial u p d a t e tomorrow?

He is a knight of RZA and here from the first day, than he should know how important it is to build a huge stadium and not to buy new players.

There is no "he won't survive" option, since we don't kill the team on fincancial trouble. Yes, we fire coaches, demolish facilities and cut off rosters, so it would be wise to sell the draftees soon, before they get cut by the engine.

I agree with Buffalo, he should have known better, if selling a player or 2 is the way out of the mess then that is what he should do...

The problem of this idea is, that teams could play with a higher financial risk, because the bank could save them.

One example:

You have a bankrole of 20 Mio$ and buy at one day 2 players for 10Mio and 15 Mio$ and will be the next day at -5Mio$. You have a small stadium and get money from the bank to build your stadium.

I think that I know, which manager is in trouble. It is not the first time, that he is in dark red.

I should be his decicion, if he will let his team die and restart or sell some of his stars.

the problem is once you start doing these things for one, then others will want the same treatment. a loan system will just let people think they are safe for a little longer without the consequences.

i know it might seem harsh but as said he should have known better and its still part of managing your team.

All statements are valid, from my point of view.

We could adjust the numbers, and we could make this a one time feature for each club, and we make the conditions more strong.

From the manager licence:

#8 - Check the economy

The most important thing besides winning games is to keep the economy of your club alive. A good manager always know about the financial situation.

From the manual:

Money makes the world go round, both here and in real life.

...

Keep an eye on your finances - without proper management you can't win!

There was a reason, why the Admins wrote it there.

And: we added many statistical things, to make it easier for the manager to keep track on the money.

This is all true, I know that.

But, we have to think about if we could add a "second chance" or if we refuse it. Sending a manager to "death" or giving him a way full of stones, but the chance to survive...

I am absolutely clueless...

I don't want to see that a team turn bot, because of financial trouble, but there are enough ways to prevent it.

If the Admins provide a "Rettungsschirm", than I like to see a rule to prevent such situations. If a team is in financial trouble, it will be not allowed to buy new players for the next 5 RZA-weeks (merciful way) or for the rest of the season (harsh way).
