UNIMPORTANT????

You will get no yards whitout an Oline not here not in RL...

I think it is not so important to draft a OL. It is easier to develop a OL than a DL or LB with the guys you got at the beginning. The last OL from the draft have a huge lack in footwork. The OL in the next draft might be better and I will change my mind.

And you said, you need 5 OL-players. You are right, so having one outstanding is worthless, when the other 4 guys are crappy.

So you would never draft a OL, because one is useless when the other 4 are crappy. But you´ll have to start at somepoint, or you still try to develope all from your youth.

I think OL is as important as DL and one draft DL doesn´t make your DL better either. I think if you have a OL/DL/LB or WR its hard to let them go, because you would always need a lot great players at these positions.

I view OL as being extremely important. I've drafted 1 OL in each of the first 2 drafts and am trying to develop my line even further. Helps the running game and protecting the QB. The fact that you need 5+ good players at that position makes it seem even stranger that some don't value it at all

Agreed. I have drafted 3 in the 2 drafts we have had and the others I have on my team are pretty decent right now. I will be looking at drafting 1 more in our 4th draft. I'm aging at other positions right now and that needs upgrading atm.

An Example how important a strong OL vs a weaker DL is:

It is from the second half of my last League game, my PC is not good enough at the moment.

In the 4th Quater this happened near to every run and this were allways big plays 8-13 yrds.

back to topic of selling a drafted player and invest in the stadium.

I wrote my mind of doing exactly this by selling one of my two drafted QBs in an other thread:

I could tell you what I did and why. I sold one of my QB´s and invest the money in my stadium.

Why I do that? Because I understood the draft system in a wrong way. I only would draft one QB not two. The drafted players are much better than the one you have in your starting team. But what should I do with two QB´s only one of the can play. Sure I can substitute if one is tired, but I thought this wasn´t efficient. That´s why I sold one of the two QB´s. If I didn´t pick them becase of my misunderstanding, I think I wouldn´t sell my drafties.

I would not primary go for a OL in the draft. I got a OL in teh 3rd round of the first draft. I couldn't prevent this.

At the start I put my strongest players at the OL, before I put the other strong to the DL. After this I developed the 5 guys equally and bought other cheap strong player at the TM. I think there are better ways to get good OL.

On the test server I stil have a crappy OL and I'm there for 5 season?
I did not draft some very often and that shows.

My own trained OLs are getting better but still lack the quality of a drafty.
