So is that your weaker side or why was that successful?

The side was a little bit weaker. The success was a combination of darkwing, good switching between pass and rush out of a 4-WR-Shortgun and homefield advantage.
The darkwing was sucessful, because I didn't substitute my DL and LB, to have allways my best players on the field. So he destroyed my RDE and ROLB. If this was his intention, than it was a great tactic or it was only luck.

My intention is not to blame Johnnys good tactic. I only wanted to know, if the defence could automatically can react. If I understood the Admin right, they can't. So I try to use this in my way.

Let me point out: This is no dark wing defense. Dark wing is based on ONE stroing receiver out of x crappy ones, such a tactic is not possible here.

Don't forget I stuffed your offense too Buffalo

American Football is a game of individual matchups, and to beat a squad of Buffalo's quality, it was imperative I made the most of the options available. I was shocked at how well it worked out!!

It has been my intention from the start to build a team around an unpredictable run and shoot style offense, mainly to do something different from the dull run heavy tactics used by so many others. The passing is not up to scratch yet obviously but it's good enough to be a threat and make it difficult for opposing coaches.

Shotgun 2 WR...
The left WR is the first in my DC...
Always attack the left side...
Don't substitute WRs...

Kind of Dark wing? I mean at least in the first half, since the WR should get tired.

Edit: This is not meant to be harsh criticism or something. In my opinion this "Dark wing" is just one possibility at this point of the game. Just as JohnnyP pointed out: It's a way to counter rush only. Which is a similar exploit of the engine in my opinion.

Sorry to Buffalo, but I like the way Jonny is thinking...

No, because of things like ingame injuries there is no 100% way to survive with only 1 strong receiver.

True. So, to strenghten the point of my Edit: Just a way to try to counter very strong rush teams.

The question is: should we call it exploit or feature. This translates to "we need to act" vs. "Fine, let's play some games"...

For myself, I don't consider both things to be exploits, since the nature of an exploit means there is no counter option, IMO. This is not the case, because we have some good passing games, as we will see teams going down when relying on Jonny's tactic. I am quite sure

From Johnnys point of view it was a great job.

I know the discussion about darkwing formations from -TOG- For me it is not only passing to only your best WR.
It is a little bit disapointing for me, that my smart Defense captain has no possibility to react such a situation.

What I have in my mind: If the offense play over one side, that a smart MLB could recognize this and introduce his defense to concentrate theri attention to this side. How could this be part of the engine? If a offense play ALLWAYS over one side, than the defense players on this side get after X plays a bonus for vision and positioning.

Based on the engines math this would translate to a bonus for the defense on tactical skills, kicking from a certain point of onesided gameplay. But then we need the foolish option too, and make the D weaker on the other side.

Have to add: I am not ready to change anything in the engine based on ONE game!

Why a bonus for the offense?

I didn't expect that you would change the engine directly. But I hope you have an idea, if more managers start to use this tactic, based on this revealment.
