I think it will only increase the possibility of a TE reception, but I'm not sure it will be only the TE getting the passes.

If there was a way of throwing only to the TE then I think Pete might stop it because it sounds very much like Darkwing to me.
But one thing that I don't quite understand .... why would you want to "limit" or "restrict" the possible target(s) of your Quarterback (by saying "only middle" etc) ?

If you've got a fantastic TE and a smart QB then the TE will get open for the reception by using his superior skills and the QB will spot the open TE and throw to him. If he's not open, then you don't want the QB throwing to him, you want the QB using his brain to use the ball in the best possible way by finding a different TE/WR who is open.

The only time I'd want to "restrict" the QB's choices is if the QB is dumb or very bad at passing, in which case I'd either (a) find a smarter QB that I could trust or (b) run the ball .

i set some passing to middle and both my TEs are doing a good job. Check the season stats:

C Sinclair 92 receptions 647 yds 11 tds
M Bannerman 78 378 4

I make sure to have atleast 2 options within a given play ie both flanks/middle and right etc, to give my offense more options.

In an engine that "learns", it makes no sense to "dark wing"

I agree that Catching> Blocking for TE.

Off-topic: for FBs, Carrying > Blocking

Agree...I you look at the number of blocking attempts for a FB or TE (and sometimes a OC)...its pretty small. I think for FBs and TEs, blocking doesn't come into play nearly as much as other skills.

As a whole, I kind of think that RBs and WRs have a much greater impact compared to FBs and TEs. IMHO.

You would think, however, that if you ran a lot there would be plenty of blocks by te's and fb's....

So far I believe TE & FB do not lead block...Blocking from them is only pass protection

I don;t know about TEs, but I believe Pete has said that FBs don't block on running plays (with the current game engine).
