What are your observations about gaining experience? I ask this question, because I have a 3 years veteran with only 1,5* experience, but he played in 88 regular games and 47 friendlies. Another 3 years veteran with 100 regular games and 49 friendlies has only 2* Experience.

I bought a player with 20 years, keeping him this season in the YA and he start his carrer with 3* in experience.

Every drafted player will start with more experience than my veteran player.

I think, that young players should start with lower experience and players will gain their first 50% (2,5*) faster then the other 50%.

I have also more abusive examples from the testplattform. I think some players can play 8 season and will never reach 5* of experience.

I've got to admit that I find the experience ratings to be at best puzzling and most of the time they seem a bit like black magic.
I've got some 19 year olds playing in the first team (i.e. not YA players) and 2 of these 19 year olds have 3.5* experience, 1 other 19 yr old has 3* experience .... and even though I've played all 3 since I got the team, my team hasn't been in existence anywhere near as long as Buffalo or Turtle's teams.

OK, I won't come up with the real math on this

But to explain how it works

We are using the number of plays and the type of the game. The game type is determining the progress-factor, and the number of plays is the multiplier.

So after the game, the player gains experience like this simple formula

new-experience = old-experience + (number-of-plays * progress-factor)

The progress factor is slow enough not to push the player to full experience on 3 games, but fast enough to have a full experienced players after a couple of seasons - and with a couple of seasons we are talking about more than 3!

This is why it will be hard to see full experienced players right now.

so some positions will increase experience much quicker than others ?

my punter got zero plays last game (against a bot) and in another game he only got one play .....if you're a run-heavy team your RB's are gonna get many plays each game.

Players get experience for snaps and not only for caught passes, tackles ...

The player mentioned first is 22 years and has 3800 plays as OL and an experience of 1,5*. My 23 year old QB with 2600 plays has 4* Experience. I thought experience is an important factor for a player performance. May be the increase is ok, but the start experience might be to high.

I would suggest for Draftees and FA 20 a maximum of 2* EXP.
