IMO, CBs need strength to successfully tackle opponents. I think STR 30-35 is enough for this position. But I train my CBs at speed, tackling, vision and then at strength.

Same way here, agility is something i am interessted in Offenseplayers only (except the Oline)
Reason? I looked at the Draftees and all Skilled Positions on Offense had higher Agility, on Defense it looked like Vision is much more important than Agility.

I am sure, O-line need agility.
Reason based on position raiting.

I got benefited with 3 Oliner in last years draft (thanks you .. system ) non of them had more than 12 Agi the FB the TE and my QB had around 25 the year bevor.

Sure the Oline need a little Agi but in my opinion Strength, Blocking, Speed, Footwork and Vision (blitzing) are more important than Agi, but´s that one of the nice thinks here, nobody realy knows wht is the formular for the positions (As i look at the Results of the RZA Tackels i am pretty sure the formular is random )

I don't agree. The Draft O-Line has 19 for Positioning & Footwork but only 10 for Agility .... that says to me that O-Line doesn't need agility.... in fact, they've got higher Vision stats than Agility.

There are one or two skills that I'd never intentionally train for O-line, Speed and Agility being the ones that immediately spring to mind.

As you wish.
But i am not looking for the draft players.
I just lookin for my players developing.
As result, I have 8 OL players with OL-raiting 2,5.
All not from the draft.

Yes you have, but although I haven't scouted them (might scout them shortly), I noticed that many of the 8 have experience of 3.5* or 4*, is Experience included in a player's rating ? (I'm sure it is), if so that helps partly explain the rating.....I've noticed from my own O-Line players that they seem to get a lot of plays (per season/per game etc) so that will eventually help to boost the experience and hence the rating compared with for example a punter who may get few plays per game and therefore a relatively low experience rating.

edit - just scouted 2 of dark_wing's OL's and to me the reason for the 2.5* rating is clear :- high strength+v.high blocking+high positioning+high experience ....... I don't think the high agility is a factor

Is this topic about Cornerbacks or Offensive Line?

From the Manual:

Agility helps carrying the ball and avoiding tackles and blocks and sacks.

So in my opinion it is no defensive need for a Cornerback because the WR never blocks the CB.
It is only interesting for interceptions by a CB (carrying and avoiding tackles by the Offense)

lol ... don't worry, every RZA discussion thread starts on one topic and then gets diverted ...either intentionally or unintentionally

Maybe I rely too much on the Draft averages, but until doing so proves to be a big mistake I can tell you for sure which players have agility in the draft ......... FB,RB,TE,WR,KR & QB ....... but OL (or CornerBack ... the original thread ) are not included in the high agility list.

So in that sense the following players need agility:

- RB, receivers, (FB if they carry), QB
- DL, LB and (SF and CB, if they can be blocked here)

hm....
Some of my OL-s have very low agility, but 2,5 OL rating...
May be some of players has improve exp and agi at same time...

A little quote from the "OL theory" topic:

Agility is third behind blocking and strength for a tackle. Speed rushers eat strong but immobile tackles in American football. Speed isn't much needed for offensive linemen.

This guy has source code access

That little hint from Pete is something to consider...

But back on topic!

I like having my CBs around 30-35 strength, but focus mainly on tackling and speed training. The best scenario is when my CB caps 40+ in speed but hits his red in strength at 35, since then I don't need to worry about that skill any more and I can focus on the non-physicals.

If he doesn't even get a yellow by the time his strength is 35 then having him at that position is a waste imo. I always consider moving my CBs/SFs over to either LB or DL.

And for this reason for CBs (and SFs) I keep a little higher than the draft ratio for vision and positionging. So for every 5 vision I like to have 4 positioning (instead of 5:3 like on the draft board). High intelligence is a must for every defensive player (30+).

Having some agility never hurts either, I think it should help getting more interceptions (just guessing).
