Now it gets confusing!
The following descriptions are available Up the middle (over the center) Left/right over the Guard (Offensive Guard) Left/right over the Tackle (Offensive Tackle) Left/right over the End (Tight End) So all these descriptions are made from the point of view by the Offense, and the positional description is taken from the enhanced Offensive Line. Tackle and End is not related to Defensive Tackle/End! |

Good one.
But...what's about this? - running to the left side (over the left end) - - > 99% of the tackles in short runs are made by the left DE - running to the right side (over the right end) - - > the big part (60-70%) of the tackles in short runs are made by the left DE too! |

Yep, that is a thing I have to measure - I will come back to that once I have answers. I short check on the source didn't tell me anything would go wrong here. Since we are in the middle of engine things (the engine is "frozen" due this), please don't expect this answer soon. |

Here are some numbers from my RDE and LDE. Both are draft players, but I've had the LDE one more year than the RDE so he is a little better, but both are outstanding.
LDE 1088 plays Tackles167 Missed tackles 28 Sacks 10 F fumbles 6 Rec Fumbles 5 Def TD 3 RDE 1088plays Tackles 40 Missed 31 Sacks 9 F F 1 FR 1 DEftd 0 |

Considering that the left runs are the most used, 195-71 is, IMHO, a bug. Last edited on 2012-05-01 13:47:06 by panoramix |

IMHO, a bug. Maybe, even you cannot judge by the numbers given, so it is really only an assumption. But check my post above, and stay "quiet" pls until we have real data. |

As the engine calculates in terms of distance from the play, I'm wondering if the left DE is being allowed a little too much 'free' movement across what would in reality be a pretty congested area of the field? |

For sure, cherry picking data is easy to do. Collecting significant, meaningful data to draw a reasonable conclusion takes some time. My two best tacklers are my two best players. That could have a lot to do with it.

I can give you some numbers, but I can't say it can be a help for you. I'm very quiet, the real problems of this engine are others. |

Your english works fine, but the problem remains: some DEs can fly like birds. - running to the left side (over the left end) - - > 99% of the tackles in short runs are made by the left DE - running to the right side (over the right end) - - > the big part (60-70%) of the tackles in short runs are made by the left DE too! Yes, it is true! |
