Pete,
Here is your answer. Your game received game of the month on a review site so I decided to check it out. Having been here AND a paid supporter for two seasons I believe I have a right to say what I want. Sadly it appears your buddies don’t agree.

First of all, for those that don’t like my tone try going back and reading some of the responses to my posts. Or better put, Pot meet kettle!

Your game is ok but has some serious issues. Considering it is still new it is understandable. Usually developers WANT to know about problems, for some reason you don’t. If you want to pull the cover over your head and pretend it doesn’t that’s fine by me, IT’S YOUR GAME. But if things stay the way they are don’t be expecting me to reup my paid subscription.

I’m baffled as to why you would spend so much time and effort on developing this game and ignore people’s comments with its faults? Maybe you just want a game for your little group of buddies and nothing more. Kinda what it appears to look like at this point.

[Not intended as an insult but an observation]
For some reason it appears that Europeans can’t handle being told something is wrong or can’t except not everyone agrees with their opinion. Dealing daily with companies from Europe I see this all the time. From mfg. defects and product return, to the situation involving the Euro and currency exchange, it’s like there is this wall of denial Europeans hide behind. So maybe that has something to do with it. Who knows, I really don’t care overall it’s just an observation and a factor I include when dealing with business across the pond.
Having played major college football, a pro tryout and coaching for several years, I kinda think I know the game of football at this point. To be honest I haven’t really said much about the major faults this game has because I understand how difficult dealing with all the variables can be. Adding to problem is a lot of players here appear to be very new to the game of football itself.

The one thing that stands out to me is you have lost the view of the issues facing the new players and to me is the glaring problem why your dropout rate appears to be so high. If you are only going to listen to the top players in your game, your gonna go down in flames and become one of the many failed sim games around.

Pete very simple, if you don’t want me to play your game just refund my money I will leave, not an issue on my part. As a person who invests in start-ups I see development problems all the time. You have a good product, it has GREAT potential. However I also see some red flags flapping in the breeze. Like any smart investor, if I FEEL that the flags are not being dealt with then sometimes it’s just better to cut your losses and sell.

FYI
This will be my final post on the forums, It’s not worth the pissing contest posting ALWAYS brings about. Probably why only a few post here anymore. I’ll just be a player for now. But considering the new improvements to another game I play will probably be spending more time with it. Funny, seems the major loss of players it suffered the last year or so final made the developer stand up and take notice and start listening to his customers. Funny how that works! I like the old school term myself MONEY TALKS, BULLSHIT WALKS…

I transfer this post to this thread. If people like to respond, than do it here. It will be off topic in the YA thread.

My opinion is, that you are not patient enough. I'm playing here my 4th season and I see, that my team improve very well. The passing game is better. I can prevent very long returns. So the "reality" is, that you start with a poor team, but with some development it becomes more realistic.

Many managers claim, that some tasks need so much time. To be honest, this is a game for Football fans, who want to play a simulation which has more features like a game setting and training. If you have no fun with these additionals feature, than you can play other primitive football simulations.

Somebody said, the HR-Department need so much time. I say: you need a maximum of 30 Minutes to negotiate contracts for all players. You have a full season to do this. A Season has more than 90 days, which are more than 2000 hours.

Same for the draftboard. For this you need more time. It is a task of 1-3 hours if you want to do your job well. You can do this step by step. You can scout every week 10 player and put their name, age, talent, speed, strenght, teamwork, intelligence and major non-physical skills in a excel sheet and can sort them at the end of the scouting.

You say, that Pete decline to many suggestion. I say: that Pete do his best and realise more than 50% immediately ore time delayed. Most managers don't know how much devlopment Pete is doing in the backround. He is not the guy, who say: "We will enjoy you with a new engine in 2 weeks." NO! He do his job and once it is ready and tested the will introduce new features.

I say it again and not the last time,be patient and enjoy the status quo.

Sorry, but this is Bullshit, I am always listening to my fellow users, but don't expect me to change all things each day because of a post in the forum.

I am not going into detail, but you can see by yourself how even Americans react on such calls. Imagine, how we europeans feel now.

And no, there is no refund policy, and I would never "kick" an user out because he is telling his opinion. As long as he stays polite, I am fine even with "negative" opinions.

I guess you should learn two things now:

1. I am listening, always! And I am ready for changes, as the history is showing to you...just check the suggestions board if you doubt

2. Stop putting people into a drawer by their geographic roots, nationality, skin color, political or even religious ideas - this is just dumb. By the way, many people outside US think the US citizens are dumb somehow, because of their way to support the politicians and their ideas about handling crisis by using weapons. What to tell: I talked with many many people from US, inside this game and outside, and I learned this "they are all dumb" is just another stereotype - and not true at all. Can we agree to stay away from such stereotype thinking??

Treat others only as you consent to being treated in the same situation!

If we agree on this, I am happy to have you here around for sharing ideas.

That is all for now

An sorry for this longer offtopic post, I just felt it was needed

Serious issues ? not so sure
Issues ? .... Yes. But which Sim doesn't. The point is that a post like this doesn't address the issues,it just comes across as a rant/diatribe.

I've not seen examples of people's comments being ignored because they're talking about 'faults', quite the opposite ... the discussions about 'faults' are usually the most hotly debated topics ... MOTY,Height/Weight,Pass vs Run etc.

Now ...this is possibly the only almost-sensible point in the entire thread.
I think there is a problem for new players ...the learning curve is steep for this game, and new managers do get lost along the way, but the conundrum is obvious ... How to have a Sim with many features,a high degree of detail and realism, but ... how to make it understandable from the very first day. Now that is a tough nut to crack.

Just on a general point ....quite a few people will have got frustrated about some things in this game from time-to-time....I know that I have.
Thoughts about quitting sometimes occur to me, but I can't see the point of that,it won't really achieve anything ....to me, the best way to do things is to think carefully and logically about "the issues" (major and minor) and then either post a discussion or a suggestion ....at the moment, there are one or two things that I think could be improved, but I'm not going to rant about them in the forums, I'm thinking the issues through and I'm going to post one or two constructive suggestions in the suggestions forum ....that forum does work, I've had one or two recent suggestions that have been accepted and implemented ....it's the best way forward.

CCILL has posted what I refer to as a "bitch" thread. He bitches about the game, but offers no examples of specific things that needs to change. The closest he has come to that is pointing out that the game, in his opinion, is difficult for new players to learn.

While I agree to a point, I'd like to give my perspective from a new player. (I joined a few weeks prior to the most recent 'off season')

1. The manual is pretty good. There is a lot of reading, but it's not bad at all.

2. There are a lot of things to manage in this game, from player training, to depth chart and tactics.

3. I have not found it necessary to try and 'master' all aspects of the game, but have tried to focus on things that I think will build my team for the future. (I have focused on the stadium, and understanding training and the depth chart - play book is next)

4. Pete implemented a suggestion I made within my first two weeks of joining (very simple enhancement to the forums)

5. Pete has done a fine job, IMHO, of listening to all feedback, both positive and negative. But that does not mean he will make an adjustment based on any one posting - especially a bitch-rant.

6. If you don't like the game, don't play

7. Not all (not even most) Americans are this 'ugly' (Reference to the 1958 political novel 'The Ugly American')
