Oakland Raiders Star Darrius Heyward-Bey Busted for DUI

"Oakland Raiders wide receiver Darrius Heward-Bey was charged with DUI in San Francisco this morning ... after cops say he was driving while drunk on the Bay Bridge back in April.

According to the San Francisco Chronicle ... DHB was busted around 2 AM on April 7th after a California Highway Patrol officer noticed the 25-year-old speeding and weaving in his lane.

After he was pulled over, cops performed a field sobriety test ... which he reportedly bombed. He was cited for drunk driving and later released.

Cops say the former 1st round draft pick was "very cooperative" during the stop.

If convicted, DHB faces up to 6 months in jail.

Calls to the Raiders have not been returned"

I think this dude, DHB , is one of those guys .... he could be REALLY REALLY good, but he never will be, can't quite put my finger on it but he seems to have all the physical attributes to be an NFL star .... but it just never happens, and never looks like happening.

Having said that ... The Raiders seem to specialize in finding/signing players like this !

You see this type of stuff a lot with young NFL & NBA players. IMO it is that they come from relatively poor to middle class back grounds with sports as their only hope and than have a ton of easy money thrown at them. On the other side some just don't out grow the people they hang with.

Totally agree.
Young Soccer players in England seem to suffer from it , I think they call it "large wallet small brain syndrome" !

btw ... just read an NFL report and they talked about somebody's home being "Burglarized" !!!! ......... Burglarized ? ... that is never ever a word, and never will be as long as I live ! .... I've heard some slightly strange words used in "American English" ... but "burglarized" ... I'm not accepting that disgraceful butchery of Her Majesty's good language !!!!

....I like that

but don't use "Ah,man" ...it's too American. Try something more along the lines of ... Good afternoon my lords, ladies and gentlemen, may I have the pleasure of introducing my former English tutor, he adopts the professional pseudonym of William the meat vendor.

p.s....it's not the Germans who are doing the butchery, Germans have very formal language rules of their own and know all about discipline in grammar/vocabulary ....it's Uncle Sam that is wrecking the language

He's probably been picking up bad grammatical habits from watching too many American TV series.

Much worse...he hears american music where each other word is something like F*ck...

But hey, if I am upset about, I imagine he's using this formal english the queen is doing, and feel quite happy with the american style

"Sir, may I serve you with another cup of tea? Is there anything I can do for make you feeling well?"

"Hey, old man, tea? Yes or no"

Now guess

In English law, treason is the crime that covers some acts against the sovereign (i.e King or Queen) or against the nation ....maybe Treason should be extended to cover butchery of the English language ?

The old treason laws should then be reinstated, namely ....

In English law, high treason was punishable by being hanged, drawn and quartered (men) or burnt at the stake (women), or beheading (royalty and nobility).

Hopefully, the European Parliament could be persuaded to make this new law enforceable Europe-wide.

but that would still leave the USA ........
