So i've changed some coaches around, and now I need a little advice on how you folks do this. I no longer have a FB coach, and I have this 19yo senior team FB with negligible training skills but great physicals. His TW is 32. With no FB coach I plan to turn him into a RB so I can train him up for a season or two. Then when I feel his skills are up to a sufficient level I will change him back to a FB. So far so good. But what do I do with him while he's training? How do I get his experience? Play him as a RB on my backup team I suppose? If I play a player out of position will I get the same experience?

Player gets experience on number of snaps, no matter what position does he play. So you can do both of ways you said and you will have same exp. |

Okay thanks. Is there an exact or approximate amount of plays per season to acquire a half star of experience?

I would add that not every half star requires the same amount of plays
I do not know the math at all but below EXP 3* you need more or less 2500 plays for each half star, over EXP 4* for sure 3500 or even 4000. (Kickers and Punters apart) Last edited on 2021-09-22 10:49:24 by PJRAVENS |

2500!!?? Wow. Most of my players have less then a 1000 plays at this point of the season, other then my starting QB. My starting HB only has 515 plays under his belt for this season, which is already over 2/3 finished. So at my current rate my starting HB would need around 3 or 4 more seasons before he acquired another half star. Hmm...not good. Any suggestions on how to remedy this? Maybe I should shorten up my depth chart a little, right now I have 3 RB's in my starting lineup, I could change it to 2 I suppose ? I've played my starting lineup for all league games and a few Supercup games...my back-up lineup got the rest. Do I maybe need to give my starters more games, less for my backups? That's all I can think of, unless there is something else I can do? Thanks!

You have more or less 2500 plays in a season adding league and SC regular seasons.
If a player is always on the field starting from age 21 and exp=2 he needs more or less 12500 plays to reach exp=5* so 5 seasons. Definitely HB/FB/TE are the slowest. You can play your HB/FB as OL against bot teams to be sure they are on the field in every offensive snap to speed up a little and having only 2 RB, 2 FB is a good idea in my opinion. But the most important thing in my opinion is find young players with high exp (Premium YA and right picks on the draft) and discart immediately the ones you already know that they will not have enough room in your team to reach a decent exp before they become starters. For an extablished team rising young and backup players experience is really a mess. Last edited on 2021-09-23 13:01:30 by PJRAVENS |
