What is a better indicator of an opposing team's strength? Their ELO score or their overall percentage below the ELO score? Thanks!

I would say short answer neither.
ELO is like a long term team strength where you go up as you win and drop when you lose. So a team could build up good ELO rating but then start losing, but the ELO score doesn't drop quickly just as it doesn't rise that quickly. So there is a bit of delay at times. It is best described as a measurement of a teams success over the long run. The overall team percentage is misleading (as I have learned) for a couple of reasons. 1. It only reflects the most recent depth chart used. If a team recently played a bot and used a different depth chart to get players experience then it would show a lower rating than what they can be. 2. The rating is just showing the capability of the players but does not show the tactics a manager uses. A really good playbook can overcome discrepancies in team player strength. michaeltodd wrote:

Is there a quick way, some other score or rating perhaps, to roughly judge an opposing teams strength? Maybe global rank?

Another question, is the amount of experience earned per play the same between Super Cup and league games? If not, which one does a player accrue more experience with? Thanks!

And as answer to your question, no quick way, no. You get a feeling by putting ELO, team strength And league results in Relation. Also good is to see the ELO development oder the season. A big rise means ELO is Not high enough, flat or small rise means it is quite right And a decline means team had better days in the past. But be aware that this is highly dependent of schedule. |
