For those managers that have been here from the very beginning or thereabouts .... a question
Does 'The Draft' get easier each time or harder each time or neither ? Originally, my thinking was that it gets easier ... the more Draftees you have, the less 'gaps' to plug on the Roster. But now I'm not so sure, I'm thinking ... the less gaps you have and the better quality players you have ,the harder it becomes to find sufficiently skilled Draftees because you've now got very specific needs (especially if you're picking from a long way down the board). What do you say ? |

Well, one thing is true. You need less position to fill, so you have more players that you just throw down the list.
On the other hand, when you are listing or searching for top players that you'd like to draft you're like "oh, nothing special" in most of the cases, not because they're that bad, but because you've seen so many you don't get excited any more. The selected few pearls roam to the top, with the others is "which one is less mediocre" and it's a tough call. |

It becomes a little harder in that you may have say 3 drafted lb's from drafts you wouldn't necessarily need another one. Let's say you also have 3 OL draftees on your roster, another would be nice but you probably have other holes. I have gotten to that point myself.
So what I do now is this: I look through my roster for needs. I then order my draft based on those needs. I then look through areas like the OL situation above and find those players who are way ahead of the others in that draft or better than the draft player I currently have at that position. I then check the areas like the LB one above and look for those guys who are just monsters, so a LB with 40+ speed 40+ strength 50 int, high tw and maybe a trait. I reorder my draft to sprinkle in those players that are exceptional with the needs. In the end it is a crapshoot, who knows what you will get. I mean in Dragons there was someone who drafted 2 kickers in the first and second round. Add in the random bot variable....I figure that if I sprinkle in those great ones with the needs I'll get a little of both but wouldn't be disappointed either way. |

As I've never spend a lot of time scouting the draft prospects, nothing's changed between draft 1 and the last one.
In the first draft I just put every OLiner to the top in no specific order. In the 2nd draft I loaded the top of my list with DLiner, and in the last one I did some random scouting and moved those guys a bit around. The only constant in all three drafts has been the downgrading of every P and K to the bottom of the list. I just take what's there, and then I find a spot on the roster. Haven't sold a single draftee so far. |

For me every draft is harder. In first I was pleased with anyone I get except punter. Second I needed some positions more, so focused on them. Third draft pick is on level with first squad members just more intelligent or younger, so it takes a lot of thinking who will be more useful in next few seasons... And next season draft picks will have to work hard to make it to the first squad.

Cause of i use this season as an trasnsitionseason, getting rid of older guys buying/developing some prospects i think the next Draft would be easy for me, cause i need some starters again...
