What's the best strategy for allocating your youth academy points. I can think of three strategies:

1. Build one star: Allocate all your points to one guy and just let the rest of the YA members train normally.

2. Boost Physicals to 35 ASAP: Allocate points to promising players to boost either or both Strength and Speed to 35 ASAP so you can see where they cap.

3. Spread the Wealth: Distribute the points to a lot of the players and hopefully they'll develop into handful of good players. Your stars will come from the draft anyway.

I've got one player I am going to be promoting sometime this season, so I've been doing option 1 to get him closer to being game ready when I promote him.

For the past couple of seasons, I've been doing option 3 for the players that are closest to being promoted.

Once my player promotes, I'm not sure what my strategy is going to be. I will have 3 18 year olds, so maybe I'll distribute points evenly between until each is ready to promote.

The is the excel wizard a way of just tracking your youth players or does it actually recommend what to spend your points on?

I prefer to train 3 or 4 players at a time when I don't have a clear upcoming super star to train.

Right now I have one how has Long carrying And Sticky fingers
So I'm dumping all my points into him trying to get him ready to take A starting role next season.

Right now Wr his Speed 43 going be between 47-49 when it hits red as it just hit yellow only an u p d a t e or two ago.

Strength 16.7 Positioning 12.5 Vision 8.6
Speed 43.0
Agility 19.1 Catching 18.1

I work mainly with option one.
Train up physicals to see what i have and spend points to make them into the player I like from there
So usually only 20 & 19 yr olds get points

i use number one
find 16 years old promising player to dump all my point into (he is now 18) and will be monster when he turn 21 then i will find new 16 years old player to get my point

It depends on what is in my YA. I was going with option one and got myself an absolute monster of a rb for years to come (by the time he is 21 he will be better than almost ANY rb in the draft so far). I don't have a player right now I am pumping up yet. Have one I might get soon though. Until then I'm getting my 19/18 year olds ready to sell or put on the team to contribute.

I like the other option of just building up physicals to 35/35 and then to the next player the same. I might start employing that tactic. In fact I'll probably empty out my YA within the next week and then start from scratch using that tactic. My average starter age is low 20's on both offense and defense. So having a lot of YA players doesn't make sense for me right now. Anyone else having that issue?

4. The excel wizard: calculate the ammount of SP the player gets by the time he hits 21 and has to leave for the senior team. Spread these points first on your physicals where speed or strength should be 40 and the other one 30 or 35 depending on the current position in mind (which could change along the way with caps appearing). Then spread the remaining points on the rest of the skills to get the overall picture. Then and only THEN decide how many points you will spend on the player to boost here and there until you're satisfied.

So it's kind of a mixture of 1. and 2. where you don't build only one star per se, but a lot of potential stars by "spreading the wealth".

Personally I'm against spending training points on physicals, not even boosting them to 35 is worth it imo. Imagine if the player gets the yellow at 34 ... congrats you've just wasted AT LEAST 600 points on a TM sell.
