Is it just me, or is the number of RB ball-carrying formations (Pro-Set etc) too low when compared with the number of FB ball-carrying formations (Shotgun 2 etc).
I count 3 of each formation plus one 'tie' ... RB (Big-I,I-form,Pro-Set) , FB (Shotgun 2,Shotgun 4,Goalline-O) and the Wishbone is a Tie (RB and FB can run with the ball).

I'd like to see at least one more formation introduced where the RB runs with the ball, because in real-life the Full-Back seems to be something of a dying breed in the NFL, they tend to run with the ball mainly for short-yardage blasts near the Endzone.

Also, maybe a formation similar to Goalline-O but where the RB is the ball-carrier ?

just my opinion
for me there is no need for more formations so far.
when talking about the whole "rushplay thing", i would appreciate an option to set RB/FB rushing much more in first place.
the second thing, i would like to put on top of pete´s agenda is rush/ lead blocking for FB and TE.
(this is no complaining about pete´s work!)

Indeed, but combined with proper run stuffing, especially by blitzing LBs/DLs breaking through, more variable fumble results, and a movement away from 'distance from line of scrimmage in formation' being an overriding factor.... for instance, if you run outside right from the proset, it is almost always the HB left who is the ball carrier, with the FB/HB right lead blocking to clear out OLBs.

Agree that eventually the FB needs to block on running plays for the game engine to be accurate. Also, screen plays should eventually go to HBs and FBs.

However, in terms of more formations for the short term, I think its okay as is. Most of the FB formations you mentioned are passing formations.
