OK, ive had this floating around in my head for a while...time to set it out and see what you guys think.
Im thinking of creating a new friendly league - i dont really know as yet what parameters there are, but im thinking a 16 team league with 2 divisions of 8. However, the league would be a 'Doubles' league where there would be a Doubles League Table as well as the usual individual leagues for the individual matches. Teams would pair up (by agreement) and would have fixtures against other duos where their CUMULATIVE scores would count to determine the overall doubles result. I would administer the Doubles fixtures/scores and table which would be posted on here, whilst the official friendly league runs its usual course. The Duos would be split into separate Divisions so they cannot play each other. Teams are free to join forces with any other team within RZA - however, to keep it fair, a Handicap points system would be set which I would determine in conjunction with another appointed (and well respected) manager and announced before the games start. These points would apply to the Doubles scores only. The credits would be allocated to the individual winners only - i will put up a prize for the winning Doubles Team. Thats the outline of the idea - if the majority feel its worth a go, ill set about putting it into motion. Any suggestions/tweaks to the outline will be happily considered and if felt beneficial, introduced. If no interest or considered a no goer - dont be too harsh! |

Interesting idea maybe run a mock version based on one of the friendly leagues in progress to see how it would pan out. |

I'm at work so have only scanned your idea on my phone.
Am I correct in thinking the tournament gets played Out as a singles cup but you will also run it as a doubles comp? What happens if one doubles partner doesn't make it through To the knockout rounds? Or through one of the rounds? Will doubles team a play both doubles team b players at the same time? Structuring could be a headache but I'm sure you'll get around that. Maybe limit the comp to one over 45% team and one under. Will the stronger teams be in one group and weaker in the other? |

are you waiting to see what everyone else says first before declaring whether you think its a good idea or not? The Doubles League will end when all Regular season games are over - the Playoffs, if required, will be to determine the Individual winners for the Credits only Will doubles team a play both doubles team b players at the same time? Structuring could be a headache but I'm sure you'll get around that. No, it wont happen that way. But very easy to address/sort Maybe limit the comp to one over 45% team and one under. I dont see why - ratings fluctuate/change and the Handicap system will cater for very strong Duos against lesser duos. Will the stronger teams be in one group and weaker in the other? Am likely to mix n match to give some 'creative results' potential. But to be decided - depends on the duos formed - there may not be a 'weaker' team of the two! |

no probs mate - but i dont need to test it out - ive done this things before with loads of different things (poker, pool, football etc) - its just if theres interest and tweaking it to suit this games needs. |
