I hope you'll have time to write up your traditional start of season predictions regardless of your draft adventures.

You're supposed to put the 1st round guys at the bottom of your draft boards. Then the engine will first check who has the designation and pick from them. |

I'm not convinced that anybody needed to surrender a 1st Round Pick for a Kicker anyway..... certainly not in a 1.1 Draft (some of the 2.x and 3.x Drafts are a different story )
If you look at the Board, the Punters went to a Bot (at #27) and to Panoramix at #96 ...... the Kickers went to SF at #31 & #63. Therefore, I think the biggest danger to getting either a Kicker or Punter was from Bots picking badly ! ..... if anybody was really fancying a Kicker/Punter, looks like a low 2nd rounder/high 3rd rounder would always be the best way to do it. p.s. 'thatotherguy' is called Bagss, but Mr.Bagss would be OK too  |

My thinking is that a lot of teams have to be getting close to where a draft player later in the draft has little to no meaning in terms of immediate impact. For me there were only a handful of players that could have been starters in the draft. There was one kicker I wanted but was concerned that a bot or someone who didn't set up their board might take him in the second. Then I got paranoid thinking that if he was gone I wanted to get the second guy so I tried setting it up that I would get one kicker in the first round.
It feels like the physicals in the draft have dropped quite a bit from the beginning. Every Oline in the beginning was over 40 strength...now it is a few. That decline combined with roster depth (and average age is only 23.9 so it is young and deep) steered me towards drafting for need as I was not happy with my kicker. in retrospect I should have just had the one and not worried about the second kicker. Then I would have at least gotten someone young to build up. |

Actually if a kicker were to be taken in the first round I would expect it to be a 1.1 and not lower levels. In 1.1 rosters are more developed.

No. There are several reasons that Kickers go earlier in 2.x/3.x :- - Some Managers don't even set their draft rankings, they're either too new to know that a draft exists or they get overwhelmed by it and do nothing - There is a common misconception that "a really good kicker will help win close games in RZA" .... so some newer Managers overrate Kickers/Punters - New Managers don't realise that it's easy to build your own kicker/punter on the roster, I've bought players for $5k / $10k and then built them into decent kickers - There are more Bots in 2.x/3.x, therefore there is more Random picking throughout the whole Draft. |
