i sympathise with pretty much all elements here :

1) You cant really blame someone for finding a system that works and then they pound it out saying "hey, you know what im gonna do - your job to try and stop me" - there is so much inconsistency in using other formations that when you find something that works well, its hard to not go with it. Teams throughout sporting history have found a way to modify things so that it works better for them - serve and volley at tennis, long ball game in football, pinchitting in cricket for a few egs

2) We dont all have the time and ability to create war and peace style playbooks that essentially throw up different formations depending on downs, ball position, scoreline, time left in quarter - and if you do, there is no guarantee it will work. There are no 'in game' options to change things if it isnt working - or indeed keep doing something if it is working - and the engine isnt and never will be human - it cant adapt or react as we could do when we see something happening - thats just the nature of the beast

3) But then it does make a mockery of something when something that is so unrealistic happens and gets rewarded with such success. Are the Bobcats such an unbeatable team as hes gone thru the season undefeated? Arguable as to whether its his team or his play that has brought him such success.

I think we all have to take a pinch of reality with all this and accept it is what it is - whether you consider the Bobcats are abusing the game or simply making the best of whats available is your own opinion, but i feel that unless something does happen within the engine that Pete devises that either stops this happening period - or somehow its effectiveness is lessened the more its used, it will always be around and many people will turn to the 'well i cant beat them, so i may as well join them' thought process - as i doubt that Andrew will be doing anything different come season 10.

I do feel bad for TombKing - i chuckled at the Buffalo Bills reference, but that cap dont sit right on him really - i think he remains the flagbearer of Admirals 1.1 and the one that you always need to beat to win the Bowl - hes just happened to run into some hot teams on the day - otherwise his dominance of our league would be comparable to Majalorca and the rest.

Great season though guys - probably the most interesting ever id say.

Roll on S10.

I really don't like the way how did you get to final victory (I don't like it at all, that exist as option), but congrats for win!

I don't like the limitations in the current playbook and engine but however good it is when it is changed any weakness in it will always be exploited by someone.
And it shouldn't be overlooked that the Bobcats have obviously done a lot of work to build a squad of players that match their style of play.

I know, you've posted that several times in the past.
And you've also posted several times, that many high schools and colleges play most of the offensive plays from a very limited set of formations.

But I thought, RZA is trying to resemble pro football. I've never seen a pro football team use only one or two formations in a game.

well if we where going after pros why do we have YA the only teams i know that have YA our in eroup and they are no better than collage teams.

But again if we are going pro we need more formation 3wr included. As well FB that blocks on running plays,RB that catch pass out of the back field. no flying MLB and DE

lol while my league was prefect 19-0 my super cup 17-1 my loss

I am probably Andrews loudest critic of his style of play but I am actually going to side with the "you know how I'll play it's down to you to stop me"

I wrote something in the suggestions forum asking about specifics in his tactics and Andrew messaged me and told me what he did, we then swapped a few messages. Hopefully he hasn't taken my criticism personally as it's not an attack on him or his team he has built for which he deserves most credit for. The attack is solely on the tactic used.

Pete has much work to do as I fear that following the current tactical trend I can see several people slowing their involvement down if they don't leave altogether.

Pete has always said that a good playbook is better than good match settings. Well this seasons bowls the proof is in the pudding that it's just not the case. I for one just hope that we do not turn into the Dragons league as about 60% of their 1.1 sides play like this. Their bowl saw only three formations also.

We lost secretseeker and his blackoils. The way he played this season, not the biggest loss, but still sad to someone who have been around for so long go bot.
