Your wages and coaches wages are quite close the break even, so each season depends on the playoff results. You could try a different coaches setup to lower that wage amount. Or you could try to reduce the amount of players, but that could be risky.

EDIT: just looked at your roster number and there is not much room to reduce the numbers.

I operate a maximum individual wage currently. I have the odd player above that but that will change soon.

I have a few players asking for too much in wages at the end of this year so will be looking to sell before their contracts run out.

with 1.6 million in wage of your whole roster, you are way below a level which will hurt you. You should have a major plus at the end of the season in your balance, if you do not spend it on transfermarket, fast women, fast cars or fast horses.

Yeah I intend the wage bill to increase slowly as my players increase but I don't want to pay ridiculous wages to anyone.

You can do it both ways and still make money each season and for that you have 2 option.
Option 1: Grow/buy your players until a point, max at 43.9 skill until they will turn 28 years and this way you can keep their salary under 200.000$. Once they are 28, give them a 3 year deal and you can train them to the maximum. If he will not retire at 30 and if he still want to play, he will ask for less money before turning 31, even if his skills are high (45.5 47.0, 48.5 or 50.0).

Option 2: Grow/buy your players to the maximum since they are toddlers, make a kick-ass playbook and advance into the Super Cup each season at least in the final 8 teams and of course in the playoffs of the League say Conference Finals at least and you will still make a lot of money each season with a bill of 6M-7M players+coaches.

AC CONFERENCE
1. Who Day & Mavericks with a 11-0 record hold #1 spot in the AC while also holding the 2nd best PD in the AC. Having a slightly easy schedule in the last 5 games playing against the Saints (BOOT) in week 13, The Last Duck Dance (BOOT) in week 14, the Kamloops Mad Dogs in week 15, the Colossus in week 16 and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers (BOOT) in week 17, hold all the cards in their hands to finish the season as the #1 seed if they will win all the games and hold their PD up.
2. Damion & Aratana Hajimari with a 11-0 record hold #2 spot in the AC. Having a moderate schedule in the last 5 games playing against Sheffield Wednesday in week 13, the Svalbard Saints in week 14, the Konjarnik HighTowers in week 15, the Seacoast Cruisers (BOOT) in week 16 and the Portland Sea Dogs (BOOT) in week 17, are the favorites to close this season as the #2 seed. They also have a good chance at finishing as the #1 seed if their PD will go higher, but if they will drop a game they can also fall to a lower seeding.
3. Radu91 & the Constanta Ravens with a 10-1 record hold the #3 spot in the AC while also holding the best PD in the AC and in the region. With a slightly easy schedule in the last 5 games playing against the Idiotic Idiots (BOOT), the Minnesota Unicorns in week 14, the Saints (BOOT) in week 15, the Vancouver Corsairs in week 16 and the Pittsburgh Steelers (BOOT) in week 17 have a good shot at finishing the season as the #3 seed, but with other results turning in their favor perhaps they can finish higher.
4. Devon70 & the Devon Warriors with a 9-2 record hold the #4 spot in the AC. With a slightly moderate schedule in the last 5 games playing against the Minnesota Miners (BOOT) in week 13, the Konjarnik HighTowers in week 14, the Constanta Sailors in week 15, the St Pauli Packers in week 16 and the Seacoast Cruisers (BOOT) in week 17, do have the #4 seed locked for them and most likely they will finish there.

Having a slightly easy schedule in the last 5 games playing against the Rams (BOOT) in week 13, the Minnesota Miners (BOOT) in week 14, the Devon Warriors in week 15, the Konjarnik HighTowers in week 16 and Minnesota Miners (BOOT) in week 17, have a solid chance by the end of the season to finish as the #6 or even #5 seed and make the playoffs once again.
8. Ulero & the Konjarnik HighTowers with a 5-6 record hold #8 spot in the AC. Having a very hard schedule in the last 5 games playing against Portland Sea Dogs (BOOT) in week 13, the Devon Warriors in week 14, the Aratana Hajimari in week 15, the Constanta Sailors in week 16 and Sheffield Wednesday in week 17, will need a miracle to make the playoffs this season.

With a easy schedule in the last 5 games playing against The Last Duck Dance (BOOT) in week 13, the Kamloops Mad Dogs in week 14, the Uruk-hai Warriors (BOOT) in week 15, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers (BOOT) in week 16 and the Salt Lake City Wildlife (BOOT) in week 17, have the #2 seed locked for them, but if they will win the PD battle against their conference rival, they can finish as the #1 seed by the end.
3. Brucehum & the Vancouver Corsairs with a 9-2 record hold #3 spot in the NC. With a slightly hard schedule in the last 5 games playing against the Tim Nation (BOOT) in week 13, the vamosahi in week 14, the Mavericks in week 15, the Hamburg Baltic Dogs in week 16 and The Last Duck Dance (BOOT) in week 17, have a good chance to catch the playoffs, but a small chance to finish as the #5 seed.
6. Stabler12 & the Michigan Weasel Traders with a 8-3 record complete the final chart in the playoffs at #6 spot in the NC. With a slightly easy schedule in the last 5 games playing against the Minnesota Unicorns in week 13, the Geneva Lions in week 14, the Idiotic Idiots (BOOT) in week 15, the Indy Crossroads (BOOT) in week 16 and the Uruk-hai Warriors (BOOT) in week 17, will make the playoffs for sure perhaps even as the #5 seed, but they are waiting for their division rival to make a mistake to jump to #3 or #4 in the seeding.

In the HUNT:
7. gp-Rurik & the Svalbard Saints with a 7-4 record hold #7 spot in the NC. Having a hard schedule in the last 5 games playing against the Geneva Lions in week 13, Aratana Hajimari in week 14, the Vancouver Corsairs in week 15, the Rams (BOOT) in week 16 and Tim Nation (BOOT) in week 17, will have a hard time making the playoffs this season, but your never know. Matter of fact who wins in week 13 between this 2 division rivals will have a higher chance at hoping to make the playoffs this season.
8. Rafi Lafigue & the Geneva Lions with 7-4 record are the #8 spot in the NC. Having a hard schedule in the last 5 games playing against the Svalbard Saints in week 13, the Michigan Weasel Traders in week 14, Sheffield Wednesday in week 15, Tim Nation (BOOT) in week 16 and the The Chicago Cubs in week 17, will have a hard time making the playoffs this season, but your never know. Matter of fact who wins in week 13 between this 2 division rivals will have a higher chance at hoping to make the playoffs this season.
9. Morpheus_hh & the Hamburg Baltic Dogs with a 6-5 record hold the #9 spot in the NC. With a slightly hard schedule in the last 5 games playing against the St Pauli Packers in week 13, the Salt Lake City Wildlife (BOOT) in week 14, the Glasgow Tigers in week 15, the Kamloops Mad Dogs in week 16 and the St Pauli Packers in week 17, have their hopes cut out for them and it will be a miracle if they will manage to get to the playoffs.

I got off to a good start in the city championship yesterday with a 17:0 win against the SEA LIONS. The following three quarters weren't so great though. If I lose against the Baltic Dogs today, which I will, the dream of this championship will be over. But my time will come!
