Morale

Morale influences the player’s power and ability on the field, so if your player has less than 100 morale they will play worse. Morale is affected by the outcome of each Competitive game. Your complete roster receives a morale hit for each loss in Competitive games, cup games included. Conversely, for each win they receive a bonus.
You can also gain morale by using the Psychologist on your medical staff. The higher the level of the Psychologist the more morale your players will gain on a weekly basis.

Average Morale bonus/hit on income generating Friendly matches: 3%
Average Morale bonus/hit on League matches: 5-12%
Average Morale bonus/hit on Cup matches (except Friendly Cups): 5-12%

Based on the prediction made based on ELO, the Morale gain/loss is higher or lower. If a team is expected to win a game the easy way, and the result is a loss, the Morale gain for the underdog winning the game is higher than normal, while the Morale loss for the expected to win team is bigger as well. If teams win and lose as predicted, the gains/losses of Morale are lower. From Season 28 on there is a bonus in place if a team loses Playoff games or Bowl games, the hit is less harsh on losing against predicted results.

Staff and Facilities help you to deal with Morale losses. Healing such Morale issues is done at Training, and during the Injury-recovery calculation each night.
