Champ of champs competition has started and we had those matchups
Kalapana Puppies vs Space Kraken 
Trois-Rivieres Oilers vs Zygal Coda
 Vicenza Coyotes vs Diorite Lions
2 teams did prevail, the team from level 2 did lose against an Elite team, so wonder. In round 2 we have unfortunatelly a CIVIL WAR Trois-Rivieres Oilers vs Space Kraken Grrrrrrrr! Today is the last gameday of regular supercup season, next Thursday the playoffs will start. I hope I get a list together of the participating monarchs teams. |

So the playoffs for the Supercup will start on Thursday and we have 14 matchups.
Unfortunatelly we have 2 civil wars going on in the 1st round. 16 Teams in the 1st round. The last gameday is coming
Most playoff teams are at least known, only their seats are open. Still some teams are in the mix to get in or fail to get in on that last gameday. Right now the conferences do look like this (only competitors) AC Letaidans Back at #1, but they face a human team next, Hemet Hooligans, while the Dragons play a BOT. With 15 PD points ahead of the Dragons likely the swiss will drop to #2 again. Black Dragons The Dragons are from my point of view the favorite to get to #1 with a BOT game coming. They need still to hope for a 60 PD win against the BOt, while Letaidans need from the Dragons point of view a closer game. Leverkusen Leopards My team lost a close one against the Hooligans, but will still win the division, playing a BOT on last gameday. #3 is set. Torchwood Aliens The Aliens are set to get to #4. Orlando Hawks The Hawks will get #5, having less PD than the Leopards. They play also a BOT team, but it's unlikely they will gain the diff. Roll Badge 2.0 Badge do have 1 game ahead against all other competitors for the #6. They play Dan1983m, which is not a stong team. This is likely a win, hence Badge will become #6. Hemet Hooligans The Hooligans are 1 game behind, but play Letaidans on last gameday. They would need to win this AND hope for a Badge loss, which is very very unlikely. No playoffs this season. MK Saints The Saints lost against the Hooligans, which did drop them 1 game behind the Badge and did kill their playoff chances. They do play a BOT, but would need a Badge loss, which is very unlikely. No playoffs this season. NC Arizona Hummingbirds The Hummingbirds did secure already #1. They play Bradford Bullocks this week, but are 2 ahead of the next one. Midnight Marauders The Marauders play SARMIS as last opponent and will likely win this. They are 1 game ahead of the next, and a lot of PD, so #2 is secured. Burnaby Bruisers The Bruisers have same win lotal as the Hornets and 17 PDs ahead, thanks to a gigantic win last gameday. The play a BOT (as do the Hornets) and it is unlikely the will lose the 17 PD edge in total, so very likely the division and with that #3 is theirs. Osler Rotties The Rotties play Poznan Knights with 1 game behind the #3. So, #4 secured. Bradford Bullocks The Bullocks do face Arizona Hummingbirds for a rematch. A win will secure #5, a loss will drop them to #6. Berinsfield Hornets The Hornets did play a closer game, when they were expected to win big (against the Knights) and did lose by that the PD edge. It's unlikely the will jump the Bruisers again, so #5 or #6 is theirs. Depends on the Bullocks - Hummingbird game. Paxtang Black Panthers They are 1 game behind Bullocks and Hornets and it's very very unlikely they will gain that 1 win. On top they play a weaker human team, still no bot, so PD gain will be eventually less then 60. Best case for them would be a Hornets loss (who play a BOT) and a BIG win. No playoffs this season. If all this happens (assuming a Hummingbird win), the playoffs would be: Wildcards Leverkusen Leopards vs Roll Badge 2.0 Torchwood Aliens vs Orlando Hawks with Letaidans and Black Dragons waiting Burnaby Bruisers vs Bradford Bullocks Osler Rotties vs Berinsfield Hornets and Arizona Hummingbirds and Midnight Marauders waiting. Interesting compare against the rankings, the Rotties are in those not in TOP 12 and ranked worst of all teams. |

A very good round for the Monarchs region in this 1st round.

Here are the Week 17 - Power Rankings!
Another big change for week 17 so there is the regular week 17 and a Week 17 *NEW* tab that shows all of these updates so you can see the difference: 1. I changed how the score formula is calculated and slightly altered the weights. 2. Added a BOT games column. 1. Score formula update I forgot that for the win pct I was ranking it not solely by the win pct but tiebreakers would go to a team's overall rank. So for example if 2 teams are 16-0 and one of them has a better overall rank, my score formula would see their win pct ranks as #1 and #2, instead of them both being #1. I did this initially so there would be no ties in the score formula but I realized this causes the overall rank to be weighted extremely high because win pct takes up most of the score. So what I did was make the win pct have no tiebreaker. If teams have the same record, they will have the same win pct rank. Then to reduce ties I made PD and SoS the same weight but increased the ovr rank weight. This should still mean there will be no score ties as the ovr rank tiebreak is the point differential. I also added a 'scoring' tab to the report so you can see a summary on how the score is calculated. 2. BOT games update With the increase of BOTs in our league I've long felt I need to somehow account for this in the ranking but wasn't exactly sure how to accomplish this. I think I came up with a decent answer. I was able to detect how many BOTs a human plays during the season and added that as a column to the report. Then I multiply that by 3 and subtract it from the final SoS score. It's not perfect but it's a good start and I'm sure I'll play with it next season... But I just realized I did MISS a team, the Flaccid Malones, who won the conference in Elite last season. I'm sorry! Their road was in 1st round Bracciano Lakers vs Flaccid Malones
and in second round Mongolian Prairie Weasels 2 vs Flaccid Malones

Too bad, but I wish the Bullocks good luck in the Conference Championships game already.
It was a good season for my Hummingbirds and I'm looking forward to next season. |
